Dear Jehovany ,

Thank you for your application for admission to the College of Arts and Science at New York University as an Early Decision Candidate. We appreciate your strong interest in NYU.

After a careful review of your application and supporting documents, I am delighted to inform you that your application has been selected for consideration by the NYU Opportunity Programs. You are among a small group of students, less than 2% of our entire applicant pool, whom we feel may benefit from and contribute to NYU by entering the University through our Opportunity Programs.

The Opportunity Programs at NYU include the Arthur O. Eve Higher Education Opportunity Program (Arthur O. Eve HEOP) and the Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP). You are being considered for one of these two programs. Both programs provide additional academic support and financial resources for attendance at NYU. Services include academic workshops and tutoring, as well as academic, career, and personal counseling.

We have added a “Frequently asked Questions” (FAQ) page to our web site especially for Early Decision students selected for consideration by the NYU Opportunity Programs. Please go to NYU > Undergraduate Admissions > Financial Aid > Opportunity Programs for information about both programs. In addition, a counselor from the NYU Opportunity Programs office will be contacting you shortly to arrange a personal interview and to answer any questions that you may have. You will be encouraged to attend the personal interview, at which time both programs will be described in full detail and your financial documentation will be reviewed to determine your eligibility. Failure to attend the interview will jeopardize your chance for admission to NYU.

If after reviewing the FAQ you believe that you will not be eligible for either program, or if you have any questions about the action of the Admissions Committee, please contact Ms. Shanell Pacheco, Associate Director of Admissions, at (212) 998-4554. Please note that if you are not interested in being considered for either of the Opportunity Programs, you will not receive further consideration for admission to NYU.

Over the years the Arthur O. Eve Higher Education Opportunity Program and the Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program have greatly enhanced the lives of hundreds of students at New York University. I sincerely hope that we will be able to count you among our new students entering one of the programs this Fall.

Congratulations!!!

Thank you! Just have to ace the interview now! Wish me luck. I'll keep you guys updated.

congratulations nyjeo :)

Hi guys,

Just curious! Are there any EDs applying to NYU Gallatin that have received acceptance or rejections?

I applied to NYU Gallatin as a spring 2009 transfer.

I think so far only LSP and HEOP people have heard from NYU
Most other ED applicants are going to receive their result late next week

Are you serious!? A counselor told me that they are wrapping up the spring transfer evaluation soon.

Do they evaluate spring transfers or ED first?

oh i was just talking about ED... don't know about transfers though, sorry

btw has anyone tried the NetID activate website? does it work? haha

Hyjeo for the HEop program do you apply for it or they choose you randomly??

Oh my god, I had a nightmare last night that I was rejected from NYU and was notified via text message on my cellphone. I think I'm going crazy here!
