Official NYU ED thread!

sigh...my interview invitation still didn't arrive... hmm do you think they send it to the city kids last? and wow, Jehovany, they said u are among the 2%? WTHHH i thought it was 7% for ed heop kids!

well once again, congrats to NYJEO! I hope all goes well for you! wish me luck too!

Congrads NyJeo! I know how much you wanted it man, you deserve it. Rock that interview yo. :)

Haha nice Wicked. I just had my NYU dream last night too, sorta. I dreamed that I got one of those postcards inviting me to an event, which basically means you got in. I think I was really happy, but then I saw that it was postmarked July 30th, 2008, I was like *** and the dream ended with me time-traveling with Obama to fight evil.

Lmao you can't don't judge me!

That is a really sweet dream... well, at least the part about Obama. I keep having this dream where I pick up a medium sized envelope with the NYU return address on it, and as soon as I go to open it, I wake up. Kinda ambiguous.

Oh, and the most cruel thing happened today. I saw a large white envelope in my mail pile today, and I almost started to cry tears of joy, until I looked it. It was from Peta.

Future13:

No you don't apply to HEOP. They admission office picks themselves. So you would apply like anyone else would.

And thank you everyone. I really appreciate it =]

I think I got rejected. called heop to see if my app is there today, they said no.

So I just received the phone call from the opportunity program office.

My interview is Tuesday, Dec. 9th at 12:30pm.

What should I wear? a suit? D:

cantochickk: aw maybe you still have a chance. Keep your hopes up. =]

yes! a snazzy suit.. navy/dark blue with a striped shirt light blue underneath and a navy/gold tie if you have one.

or just go all black with a grey shirt

The latter ensemble sounds a little... iffy. I'd go w/the former... You can't go wrong. But maybe the shirt could be a solid color? Congratulations!

This next week is not going to be a good time. At all...

NyJeo, I am so excited for you. Good Luck!!

When I interviewed with colleges, I didn't wear a suit. I wore a polo, slacks and a sweater. (I looked like the textbook definition of a prep)

My aunt interviews for Northwestern, and when I asked her this, she told me that they really dont care what you are wearing, they are more interested in what you have to say. Come with a few questions to ask the interviewer and read that days copy of the NY Times, it will make you look intelligent if you can talk about current events. But just dont look you came from the gym and dont clash, remember... Black and Blue make a bruise :P

"Black and Blue make a bruise :P"

Is it bad that I definitely laughed when I read that? I've never heard that before.

Oh, sorry double post. Yeah, navy and black are a no-no.

Bryan thanks for the pointers!

tan khakis or black khakis?

nice button up shirt not tucked in?
I don't really do polos... hmm I guess I'll see how it looks and give it a try.

go for the shirt. I only started wearing polos once my fam joined a country club and when I moved to Florida.
hmm... I say go for the tan khakis, they usually never fail.

I'd recommend khakis and a nice button up shirt, but I would definitely tuck it in :D. Good luck!

Congrats NYJeo...reading your stats post, I'm not surprised at all NYU picked you. You deserve it. Anyway, I would recommend tan khakis and a button up shirt, tucked in.

when do international students receive their acceptance emails?

wednesday or thursday, says the admission's forum.

You might get it on monday even, cause that's what happened last year and all final decisions were made friday or saturday I think.
