what's lsp?

liberal studies program.
it's basically a two year liberal arts based deferment, after which you enter your junior year in the college to which you originally applied.

I didn't hear about anyone, but it is good to know that there are still people who are getting LSP-ed. It gives me a bit more hope.

does it take the full four years to complete your major once you're done lsp? Also, do you have to attend nyu if you get ED and they put you into lsp?

no. you can graduate in the normal four years, two in lsp and two in your regular school.

ED applicants are not forced to attend, but I believe you have to decide pretty quickly if you're going to accept their LSP offer.
can someone who was LSP'ed weight in on that?

...did anyone get the infamous post card inviting you to something later on in the year? I know ED kids still have till the 15th of December but I can't stand waiting I keep having nightmares..

They don't have an event for ED kids.
they're designed for recruitment. ED kids are already recruited, so it would be a waste of money for them to host something like that. :-)

Kim, I know what you mean. These are going to be the toughest 9 days on my life.

hey, i'm an international student, and i was wondering: how do you know that international kids are getting their replies on wednesday/thursday? did you mean this week or next week?

hey...did anyone here get the academic expectations booklet?

Ok, so I've kind of been stalking this thread and it's really concerning me how alike we all are.

bryan:"um... no. I am really a crazy liberal Jewish Vegetarian Animal rights activist."

Are you my twin?! except for the jewish part (although i've often said that if i was religious at all, i would be jewish).

and then hannah, you're from texas?! me too! i'm from irving, a close suburb of dallas (aka hell).

Well... I am really more of a cultural Jew (Yay! Reform Judaism). But I am definitely an insane liberal vegetarian activist. I am a member of Peta, and since I live in a swing state, I did over 30 hours of work for the obama campaign in 3 weeks. Sure paid off ;)

thats awesome! did you put that on your nyu resume? i actually went to see him twice here in dallas. do you remember there being a news story back in march about how the crowd went wild when he blew his nose? yup i was there. the second time, we got lucky and ended up being about 10 feet away from him or so. unfortunately, i made an ass out of myself when i wooed insanely when he mentioned something about the 60s youth (im a huge 60s enthusiast), and NO ONE else in the ENTIRE stadium wooed. he turned around and did a double take. i hid.

That's really funny and totally awesome. :)

On another note, I tried to take a break from CC, but it definitely didn't work out because I think it made me even antsier -- which I didn't think was possible.

Haha... Actually last week, I had my 3rd Barack Attack and I was diagnosed with Obamaitus. I sent in my app before I started doing campaign work, but it listed all of my other political campaigns (I have been doing this for the DNC since the age of nine, when I went to the Palm Beach County courthouse and protested the butterfly ballots in 2000... unfortunately Dick Cheney and his little monkey took that one). I went to see Obama when he came here back in May, it was awesome.
I dont like all of the 60s, but I am in love with 1968 (if I could travel back to one year, that would be it).

PS- Did you cry during his acceptance speech?... I was sobbing.

I'm so glad there are other crazy liberal vegetarian 60's enthusiasts like me! This is why NYU is going to be so amazing. :)

I completely agree mamspam! I go to a really conservative, waspy High school, so NYU is just what I need! :)
