Official October SAT Math Discussion

Yeah, I pretty much knew I got the 112.5 one wrong when it didn’t fit…

60% of senior class take a certain class.
60% are girls, 40% are guys, and 90 are girls.

So 60 were guys, 90 were girls… and then?

Help me out a sec though, if I got 3-6 wrong with 3 omitted, general score?

Thanks, epidermil, for cleaning that up.

Wait…I still stand by the question asking about the school population

You’re righ byahnoob, we could have variations.i have seen variations of questions asked already.

@Reckie - 3 wrong w/ 3 omitted is prob like 720

I remember it as the total number of students in the global issues (150) representing 60% of the ENTIRE senior class, so everyone in it was a senior. I could be wrong, but that’s what I remember.

@byah lol you sure bro people said 2 omit and 1 wrong is 720-730

i did the exact same thing of what KennyP did…

im pretty sure it was 60% of the 150 students were seniors

@ymazing - yeah i got 3 wrong before and got a 750

3 WRONG not OMIT. wrong
no omits

What would -2MC and -1 grid-in get me?

If we are thinking of the same one, then there was a total of 90 absences, of which 8 were counted out because of 8 students who missed school twice (and so were counted double in the 90 absences ) and one who was absent for three days (so 2 extra absences counted for him).

This yields 80 absences by DIFFERENT STUDENTS, which was 5% of Jackson High.

80*20 =1600.

@gthopeful93 at most a 770 depends on the curve

most likely a 750

Exactly. Okay so theres people in the issues class and 60% of it are seniors. Then they say that 40% are boys and 90 are girls in that issues class. So that means that 90=60% of the class so the other 40% = 60 boys. that means the total of people in the class was 150. Now 150 times .60= 90 seniors IN THAT issues class. They want the entire senior population so the other 40% is 60 so its 60+90.

okay guys the grid-ins were DEFFFF all the same its 1600.

there was prob variations on the tests
cuz me and kennyp thinking the same

and even the trail one
im pretty sure mines said only i think rest stop was there in the beginning so 8/3… i rarely make mistakes on the reading

@byah wrongs are worse then omit and when did u take it? anything older then 2011 would be irrevlant

yay!! there is hope for mee!

and what wud 1 wrong 2om get me?

@ymazing - exactly im saying 3 wrongs for me got me a 750
took them in june 2012
but i got 3 difficult questions wrong… im not sure if that matters

1 wrong and 2 omit would probably still be like 750-760
cause 4 wrongs = 1 right.

and from what i believe 1 wrong is 770 2 wrong 760 3 wrong 750
and IF THE TEST was a difficult one

1 wrong is 800 2 wrong is 770-780 2 wrong 760-770

could -1 ever be an 800 on the math section? not saying that’s what I got but jw

@Oscarlany - yep if the test is a difficult one and if there is a curve

Lessons Learned:
-always check to see if I multiplied the correct percentage
-dont be skeptical of the fact that the SurfArea doesn’t change when you take away a cube
-(1-21) is always n terms (21 terms)–>[lol i’m hella dumb, when I sit and wait 75 minutes to take the test (We didn’t start filling in personal info until 9:15) with only 5.5 hours of sleep and no breakfast]

does everyone consider this test as hard?! lol
