^
the past qas have different form codes but im not sure if that means minor differences in the problem or just different order of the sections.

I’m pretty sure it just means different order. And I’m going to go with 2:1 because I actually drew the problem out and I clearly remember there being a test area at the beginning

*rest area.

I think that, aside from experimental sections, the entire test is identical for everyone (and must be to preserve consistency).

I remember it specifically saying that there was only 1 of them at the beginning. And @Studious just because more people with -1 or -0’s are saying it doesn’t mean it’s right. I believe more people overall have said 8:3. Either way, it was a tricky question, and when scores come out this thread will be rampaged about it, either by those that got 8:3 or 2:1.

I’m going to make a poll on the question and we can see the results. I’ll edit this thread with a link to it in a few minutes.

Hey guys I had 4 math sections please tell me which was experimental

@asianandproud

That’s a lot of help…

It was the second one!!

But seriously go look at all the answers in previous pages. I didn’t have an experimental and I remember all of them.

@Reckie: It means that people who are less likely to make mistakes chose 2:1. And that should tell you something.

Math is usually my lowest score (I know that isn’t helping, lmao), but this question is based more on common sense/reasoning than actual mathematical skill, so I got 2:1 because I drew it out and it definitely said there was a marker at the beginning.

Yeah, what happened with me was I was almost out of time so I just skimmed the question and ended up with 8/ something not listed as a choice. I was inclined to just pick 8/3, but I reread the question and got 2:1. My would be fatal error was not reading that there was a rest stop and marker at the BEGINNING of the trail or road or whatever the hell it was.

I suspect that it is also the mistake that you who are picking 8/3 are making.

Yeah, if you were to rush the question, you’d probably get 8:3. I had around 6 minutes left in the section, so I carefully went through the problem, drew a picture, and found the answer (2:1).

@Studious Do you remember that the question specifically mentioned in words “a rest stop at the beginning of the trail”.

I just want to confirm that there was no assumption of rest stop at the 0th mark and it was clearly worded in the problem.

I only saw mention of trail mark at the beginning. I do not remember any mention of rest stop at the beginning and I read this question multiple times. For some reason I may have missed reading the words “rest stop at the beginning” each time I read.

^ I do distinctly remember checking that both were at the beginning. It’s not something I overlooked/assumed.

@asianandproud

My experimental was the 2nd section. It had a question with f(x)=ax^2+bx+c and the smallest value for f(x) was 5 I believe. There was also a question about a prism.

complied list??

@Wharton the second math section or the second section overall?
Also I don’t really remember anything with a prism other than that one grid in. Do you remember the one that had a coordinate plane, and then had a rectangle, and then a half circle and another rectangle inside it? Was that one part of the experimental?

What did you guys get for the question that asked: What is the greatest perimeter of the triangle with sides 5 and 12? I put 30 but was not sure.

^ 33. Triangle inequality.

complied list??!

I know this is not the right thread but…

Here’s the thing: I’m normally pretty good at math, but i got one major problem: careless stupid mistakes. And because of that my math SAT score is 700. ( CR-720, W-800) I was wondering whether my relatively low math score will lower my chances at Penn/Brown/USC or will my high writing score make up for it? Also, i have a 710 in Math 1, if that is of any help.
