@stilches4 @ProximaCentauri For my CA essay, I wrote about how being physically strong was a way of subverting people’s expectations of me (they think that just because I’m a girl I can’t do push-ups! Pshaw!) Didn’t include anything in Pomona’s Additional Info section, and on the CA additional info section I just listed out my awards from my major EC. Nothing too fancy.

I applied through Questbridge and didn’t get to do a writing supplement and now I’m regretting it.
Pomona admission’s website mentions that they recommend students not to take the SAT test more than twice. I took the SAT test for the 4th time after submission of Pomona application. Will my chances be impacted if I submit the 4th score. I improved the score by 100 points.
@Enterprise2014
Personally, I think a 100-point increase is worth the extra two tests.
I have some regrets about my Critical Inquiry essay…I was really confident about it at first, but hearing what other people wrote is making me really nervous.
@thanksagain
What did you write about?
I wrote about mixing the concepts of Jazz and Permutations (math) together. Really liked it.
I applied RD and I did the critical inquiry essay too, I made mine about the california drought and the political side of it
Hi, all! Do you know by any chance when admitted students days will be this year? Though I am not expecting an acceptance, my job schedules months in advance and so I want to be available just in case thank you!
Hi all! RD Applicant…I wrote on the critical inquiry prompt, over how fantasy literature (with Lord of the Rings as a specific example) still has philosophical significance
I did critical inquiry too, but was not at all specific about what I would do. I sort of just addressed the questions I wanted to cover… hmm… ah well we shall see!
Hi guys! I applied RD and decided to write on the critical inquiry prompt. I chose a very specific topic but it has a lot of breadth. Fingers crossed
Guys, I just visited Pomona over the weekend, and loved it, but I was admitted to Harvard already. I am really nervous about making a decision if I get in.
Hi! I applied to Pomona as well. Pomona is among my top choices and I really hope I get in! Everything about it seems so perfect.
And I did the freedom prompt. I wrote it about culture and perspective. I was confident about it at first, but now not so much.
I did the freedom prompt. I talked about reaching the summit of Mt. Adams, and how I felt free as I felt like I had climbed to the top of the world. I tied it in to summiting being a first generation college student and living on the lower end of the socioeconomic spectrum, overcoming a different kind of mountain that still ignited the same sense of freedom as I thwarted the limitations that stood to confine me. I thought it was a really good essay, but I have to make up for a 31 on my ACT.
Well I applied and answered the critical inquiry prompt… my title was: Poetics of Cosmology vs. Economics of Studying Cosmos
Anyone hear anything about the notification date? And whether decisions will be mailed or emailed? (I believe last year they were mailed?)
RD applicant- I wrote the ID prompt about The Science of Art and Art Conservation, but I think mine was too specific? I included some reading ideas and field trip ideas for the seminar. I probably won’t get in though, I bombed my SAT subject tests and didn’t have a chance to retake them
Hey guys! Where has everyone else been accepted/deferred/rejected already? What are your stats?
Got a likely letter from Columbia : )
But if Pomona accepts me it will still be a struggle choosing between the two (not considering other schools). I like both. Any advice?
