***Official Princeton University Class of 2022 RD Applicant Thread***

@pplopez2001 The FA amount you ask for is important for every university except Princeton, Harvard, Yale, MIT and Amherst college because all the others are need AWARE for intl students.

Need aware schools like williams vanderbilt and dartmouth do give lots of finaid to internationals as well…however, if your efc is too low (practically zero), you’re basically gonna have a hard time in these schools as well.

@pplopez2001 the aid isnt the problem for internationals. the number is. if an international gets into a LAC, they will get a lot of aid even upto a full ride. the problem is just the number of people asking for aid. im in at 8 LACs and i told them all that i could afford only 300$. none of them asked for more than 200$. the aid is good, the problem is the number of people who will get it.

@IlluminatiIsReal I’m pretty sure even MIT is need aware for internationals :frowning:

A lot of people ( intl + full ride) have a hard time… A girl in my country got into Harvard (full ride), UVA (no aid), Duke (no aid), Depauw ( 25k scholarship), seems that if she was not admitted to Harvard, she just can’t afford to study in the U.S.

just got another rejection from skidmore

no aid at Duke? odd

i had an SAT score of 1510 and was rejected from UCLA:(
indeed SAT is not everything, but still in terms of the score UCLA was my reach school, so I was unpleasantly surprised

Also international here

@lukmore UCLA (essentially all UCs) overemphasize on standardized tests. My counselor says only 1550+s can “secure” an acceptance

What order are you guys opening your Ivy League decisions in? (I’m bored lol)

@tt8082 alphabetical, of course.

@OtterOverlord No MIT is need blind for internationals:

“Our admissions process at MIT is need-blind for all students, foreign and domestic. This means you will not be disadvantaged in the admissions process because of your financial need.”

@tt8082 I’m trying to decide if i should open my favorite ivy decision first or last.

Me too… international + full ride. Rip.

I only applied to Yale, Princeton, and Penn… probably gonna open it in that order (I want to get into at least one of those schools but I’m praying especially hard for Penn!)

1540 and rejected from UCLA! So don’t feel bad!

@tt8082 Cornell, Yale, Penn, Columbia, Princeton, Harvard xD In order of preference xD

I only applied to Princeton and Harvard, so only two ways for me.

I’ll open mine in the order that the schools were founded. Oldest to youngest
