-chokes- I got my interview email today…and the interview is scheduled for Sunday! ):

Tips, guys, tips!

I’m freaking out so much that I’m worried I’m going to get judged by even the drink I order at Starbucks! O_O Will I look childish if I order my usual, which is a green tea frapp?

DUDE be yourself, that interviewer is way too mature and preoccupied with their awesome life to notice those kinds of details. just be as confident and as professional as possible, smile a lot and be sure to send them a thank you afterwards.

Thanks for the tips! I just hope I’m not too nervous… >_> did my WashU interview earlier today and I personally felt I was unprepared, taking too long to answer the questions she asked and not asking enough questions about the school. skaljgkjgaksjnf.

I submitted my application a couple days before Christmas I believe, and got an email from Princeton on Jan. 2nd saying my application file was complete. I also received a confirmation of my arts supplement submission on Dec. 30. But I have received nothing whatsoever concerning an interview. Should I be worried and/or contact admissions?

not at all. Just wait and if no contact is made from the admission office, that means there isn’t an alumni interviewer available in your area which dosen’t give you a disadvantage. I submitted my app on November and I was contacted by an alumni last week. Just wait patiently.

I had my Uchi interview today via web. The lady was very chill and nice. I think I stuttered a lot, so I’m really scared I didn’t show myself to be an intellectual. T_T I suppose I’ll chalk it up to experience. Lol
At least I showed interest in the uni. Is 36 min too short for an interview? And she had to remind me that I shouldn’t focus on the academic parts of my life but the personal ones during the interview.
But yeah. Just know a lot about your uni that the interview is for. That’s what I did!

Like I wrote earlier, I am also waiting for the interview call email. I submitted my app. two days after the Christmas. I wonder any one in the Kansas City area has been interviewed or got an interview call.

Anyway, will wait one more week then call the admission office.

@HateSMUS thanks! I figured it might take a while–I didn’t get an email from Harvard (EA) till more than halfway through November, I think. But it seemed like everyone on here, especially non-internationals, had already been contacted and I know a guy from my school already had his (but that may have been before I even submitted…) so I don’t know. Just wanted some input

anyway, this is too long and rambly…thanks again!

Wondering if there are any athletes here who have or are waiting on a likely letter or something of the sort. Would love to hear your story, sport, achievements, test scores etc! Good luck to all! :)

guys i’m wondering when you got the email to expect an email from an interviewer? did anyone get it BEFORE the ‘application is complete’ email? cause my application is still not showing as completed and i’m wondering if that’s why i haven’t been contacted yet.

@unicameral my application has been complete, according to the email, for 10+ days and I just got the interview email a few hours ago. Looks like it’ll be this weekend! excited but nervous!

btw, what is the dress code (recommended) for a Starbucks type environment? It’s either at a coffee shop or slightly nicer restaurant

I just had an interview with a Princeton alumnus! He was very amicable but the interview was too brief as he had other interviews in the schedule. He was a Princeton Graduate student so I couldn’t ask lot of questions about undergrad experience. I wanted him to ask more personal and unique questions but he didn’t. He asked very basic questions such as why Princeton and how would your friends describe you. The questions were very easy to answer. Overall, I don’t think interviews would hardly affect the admission process. It may be a very, very small plus, from the questions asked in the interview.

I just had my interview this afternoon as well. It was about an hour and 15 minutes.
The first part was a little awkward because we actually walked from his office to a nearby Starbucks…we ordered and there weren’t any seats so then we just walked to another Starbucks (the good thing about being downtown)

Anyhow, after that it became less awkward but overall I feel like he learned very little about me as I’m pretty sure he actually spoke for a longer amount of time. He did his Master and PhD at Princeton but still talked a lot about how great the school is for undergrad and for overall as well. I asked a solid amount of questions as he seemed to prefer that to my talking about myself haha

My interview is this Saturday at Coffee Bean around lunch time. Is it appropriate to order drink and small food? Or should I eat lunch beforehand or afterward and just have a drink?
Those of you who already had interview, what did interviewers ask you?

@beingadiamond I submitted online through this website portal thing: https://puwebp.princeton.edu/UA-Art-Web/ but you could also send in a downloadable form. might be too late though?
my interview’s at Caribou Coffee in the afternoon! what should I wear? and would it be weird to just get hot chocolate or something? I’m not a coffee drinker…

I wore khakis, collared shirt, and a sweater. I did not order food. The point of the interview is for you to talk, so if you’re eating instead of talking, you’re just wasting time and will look awkward if you’re trying to take bites in between bouts of talking.

My interviewer asked very basic questions - challenges I’ve faced, hobbies, stuff I do for fun, how would my friends describe me, nothing out of the ordinary that I couldn’t answer on the spot.

thank you thesmiter… and I mailed my music CD along with the form filled out… that was the only way I could have done it in order to make the deadline at that point… I just am little worried because I never received any confirmation about it
