*OFFICIAL PSAT THREAD 2014 (US)*

gdoc is gone, going off memory now

So I got an email from College Board today saying “personalied feedback from my PSAT results” was available, and attached was an access code to be entered on the website. I clicked on the link in the email though and when I entered my access code I got a message that said “Sorry, we can’t find that access code in our system for the current year. Please double check your code and try again.” Did College Board just slip up and send me this on accident or am I just doing something wrong? I’m guessing that they sent that email a little prematurely and the scores aren’t actually accessible yet. Lol and did any of you guys get a similar email?

@hilobanana‌
I got that email too.
I believe it’s because scores won’t come out until December. So the access code won’t work yet.

@Chrysanthemum14‌ Ok that makes sense. Yeah, now that I think about it, last year’s scores came out in December too lol. Thanks :)

@hilobanana‌ @Chrysanthemum14‌

So are these actually our access codes for the 2014 PSAT or are these the access codes for 2013 PSAT?

These are not the 2014 access codes. These are the 2013 access codes unfortunately :frowning: I checked my email and they sent me the same access code in April.

I didn’t get an email.

For anyone wondering the answers to some of the disputed questions are chronological narrative, impromptu, and explain a breakthrough in an industry. My friend contacted collegeboard and recently received a response.

@Verminsoupreme
What question was “Explain a breakthrough in an industry” an answer to?

@vmiller7723‌ the passage about computer generated skin. The question was: the primary purpose of the passage is to a. Discuss a continuing problem in an occupation or b. explain a major breakthrough in a field. The responses on the google doc were mixed on this one, but it is b.

Oh I had the W version so I didnt have the passage @Verminsoupreme‌

Hey guys,

Did we come to a conclusion on the disputed CR questions from form W. Here are some answers that I put…

Miasma (sentence completion)
Doctor…Altruistic
Impertinent (highly debated)
Chronological Narrative
Vexed?

Also for the writing, was there 4 consecutive e’s in the improving sentences column. Do these sound right. Also, give me a score prediction.

CR: -6 (2 omitted) lol
M: -1
W: -1

Do you think I have a shot at the PA cutoff (216/217). Thanks!

*were there 4 consecutive e’s lol.

@averagewhiteguy‌ the nature of the reporters questions was impromptu, Chronological narrative is correct, and vexed is correct. (2 members have contacted collegeboard and received responses)

Looks good for PA in my opinion, but it depends on how hard the -1 hit is for math and writing. If it’s mid 70’s, he should be solid, but he might ride the bubble. You’ll know more in December with the actual score.

which day in December will we get our scores? And will we need our access codes that we get by email or just log on to collegeboard?

@andyis I believe we will get them sometime over christmas break, but Im not sure. Also @averagewhiteguy‌ Miasma was not the answer and the debate was between businesslike or impertinent, so I don’t know what the answer is.

Can someone predict:

CR: -3-5
M: -1
W: -3-4

Would this be in the 214/215 range (the cutoff for OH)? Thanks

@andyis scores are sent to high schools and it is up to them when/how to distribute them. Our GC’s calendar shows the PSAT scores will be on Naviance on 12/12.

Uh no you’ll get your PSAT scores usually in the first week of December, unless your school hates you.
