Official Questbridge National College Match 2010-2011

It makes us all feel good that your son was chosen as finalist. Good luck to you and your family.

I still have not received an e-mail from QB–checked spam, trash, and all the other folders–but the re-order college rankings is on my locker page. Can a finalist and a non-finalist post their locker pages so I can compare them with mine?

I received my email just a few minutes ago in my inbox. It said it arrived at 2:02 yesterday. The whole thing is odd but I’m glad I’m a finalist!

Me too KitKatKate! I just did too and it said 3:02 PM east time. It was odd. I had already emailed QB this morning, do you think i should email them and clarify that i received the email?
I AM OFFICIALLY A FINALIST!!

So, according to the College Ranking thing, I’m not a finalist. Though, I still haven’t received an e-mail. That method appears to be accurate though, so I’m trying to accept the rejection. I feel the only reason I didn’t get it is because I’m a dual-enrollment student and I’ll have my General A.A. in December and this scholarship is for typical four year students. I was planning on going for my Masters and that would equal out four years in the end, but I guess they wanted people starting as freshman.

It’s okay though  There will be other scholarships out there!

I wouldn’t bother Snowing. I sent them an email around 11 last night highlighting that I never received my finalist status. If they send you a reply next week then you can always reply back that your status has been confirmed. Otherwise…Congratulations!

Erm so what are we supposed to do about the whole supplemental materials checklist disappearing and all…?

“We are pleased to inform you that you have been chosen as a finalist for the 2010 QuestBridge National College Match. We were impressed by your commitment to academic excellence, as well as your determination to succeed despite socioeconomic obstacles.”

Awesome, I am a finalist.

@moonragonx… dunno, I resigned myself to keep worknig on the stuff and hope they have it fixed Monday

My email was so mean to me. I got it at 11:30 last night and it said it had been sent at 3:02pm. meanie butt. :DDD

Made finalist  which was kinda unexpected, but it was a great surprise.

i’m really sorry, but i’m kind of confused about the teacher recommendations. so the colleges are getting the questbridge application (aka can’t recycle essays for supplements), and unless its one of the schools that needs the commonapp, its not necessary to ask my teachers to send another rec right?

thank yoU!

The problem is I don’t remember exactly what each of my eight schools I ranked require.

I mean I GUESS I could just look it up since the questbridge website has a page specifically for that…

But I mean, if I do that I can’t appease my laziness :(

do you guys know how i go about submitting common apps if i ranked columbia and stanford? cuz i have to select early decision right…but you can’t do that for more than one school.

For stanford, choose regular admission.

I’m a finalist!!! :)

ACT: 31; Retake: 32
SAT: Find out Oct. 28 (Still can’t decide whether to send score, what would be deemed a “good” score?)

GPA: 4.380
Rank: 10/360

Jr. yr: AP Eng. Lang.–5, AP Chem–4
Sr. yr: AP Bio, AP Psych, AP Lit, AP Physics

ECs: Employment, May 2009-Present

Household: 5 people; 68K/year

Moved to U.S. in 2001.

Essays: Okay in my opinion, fairly creative, but I guess I could’ve done better

Letters of Rec: I’m guessing they were wonderful, I chose teachers who have seen me at my peak of brilliance lol (general physics and AP Lang+Comp)

Congrats and good luck to all other finalist, and good luck in your other endeavors to the non-finalists–you’re still awesome! :)

Finalist :)

So regarding the “rush reporting” service from CB, what do we do if results for a test come back on october 28? Do we wait until then to report?

For all the schools I would assume you should select regular admissions. You can submit regular admission applications long before they’re due.

If you submit Early Decision I’m worried the schools will consider you ED and that would definitely disqualify you from questbridge since the college match rules say you can’t apply anywhere outside of questbridge while you are being considered.

But that is a good question and I’m not sure. I wonder if you can contact questbridge or the schools about that?

@Persian Prince: if you are sure you want to send those scores coming out on the 28th, go ahead and send them now. On the 28th they will be submitted electronically to the schools you select.

I know for Columbia you have to select RD (stated on the Requirement page on QB), I am not sure about the other ones.

Select RD for all schools.

You don’t need to pay extra for rush reporting.
