They know (and expect) that you will reuse your essays ironturtle.

Should I send the tax forms to Penn without doing the online financial supplements (still waiting for Penn ID)…I see that people who are applying to Princeton are waiting for similar info…I guess I’ll wait?

Are we also allowed to mail the financial papers? If we mail, is the postmark deadline November 1st?

I’m mailing my transcript, but I don’t think it’s going to reach Yale by November 1st.

Okay, a couple of questions:

On the Rice supplement, it seems like I can’t edit it on the PDF. Do I have to print it out and hand write my essays, or is there a editable version I’m missing?

Also, due to circumstances beyond my control (accountant) I may not be able to get a full copy of our tax returns. In the “final college rankings” due by November 9th, is there a way to opt out if worst comes to worse and I can’t do the CSS PROFILE yet?

You can’t get your 2009 tax returns? I would say estimate as best as you can. You can send in revisions (though it is also extensive) later.

I AM DONE! These past two weeks were so hectic and stressful–so glad its all over. :-)

… Good luck everyone! If you have any questions, feel free to ask. If I know the answer–I will be more than happy to answer it.

Now the hardest part is waiting… lol

Wait, I am so confused right now.
For Yale, I understand that they do not look at our common application,
but do we still have to send it in?
b/c the recent email says

“we will be using your QuestBridge application in lieu of the Common Application and Yale Supplement, please do not attempt to check your application status online. The system only tracks the completeness of Early Action and Regular Decision applications. We will contact you directly if we require any additional information to consider your candidacy.”

What do they mean by “completeness of Early Action and Regular Decision applications” and “do not attempt to check your application status online”?

How would I even attempt to check it? through what?

Are you guys also using certified mail? or just regular?

yes we do it’s on the FAQ on their Brown page on the QB site [Brown Admission: Supplements](<a href=“Undergraduate Admission | Brown University”>Undergraduate Admission | Brown University)
There is no fee to apply to the College Match process for QuestBridge Finalists. If QuestBridge Finalists do not match with Brown, but would like to apply to Brown through Regular Decision, we will waive the application fee of $75, provided students indicate their QuestBridge finalist status on both the Common Application and the Brown Supplement to the Common Application

That’s only for regular decision. For the QuestBridge Match, you don’t need a supplement for Brown. [College Match Program: Brown Requirements](QuestBridge)

If the parent is self-employed, and has little documentation to offer in terms of income, what should replace pay stubs and the business/farm supplement in terms of financial documents?

Does Princeton want new rec letters? Can’t they just use the one’s we gave to Questbridge?

The CSS profile is asking for 2010 tax information; for example, " Enter the 2010 wages, salaries, and tips your parents reported on their 2010 IRS Form 1040, line 7."

I thought the 2010 taxes have not been filed, only the 2009.

I think that they want the teachers to submit them into the Common App. That’s what my understanding was at least.

@JohnRevka: The CSS asks for 2010 tax info if available. Since it usually isn’t, they tell you to use your 2009 information to make an estimate about the 2010 data.

Question: If the parent is self-employed, and has little documentation to offer in terms of income, what should replace pay stubs and the business/farm supplement in terms of financial documents?

So my dad is a taxi driver and doesn’t get paychecks or anything like that. Do i just send in a copy of my mom’s paystub and disregard my dad entirely?

Mentos - My father is self-employed and I am still filling out the Business Supplement. I am sending in his bank statement and our 2009 tax return.

Is it okay if I register for an ACT with a fee waiver, use the 4 free score reports to send my previous scores to Yale and Princeton for the Match, and then not show up for that ACT that I signed up for?

This is expensive for me
I qualify for like everything free with the SAT, but the ACT doesn’t have anything for low income kids…

Hey I was wondering if anyone could help me.

I have yet to send my transcript to the colleges which i wish to be matched with.
I know the deadline is November 1st for everything, but I was just wondering if this was the deadline which I could send my transcript by? or if it was the date at which the colleges expect it?

Because if I send my transcript tomorrow there would be absolutely no way the colleges would receive it in time.

Also are we able to send our transcripts via fax?

Your transcript (and everything else!) should be postmarked by Nov. 1st. So, they don’t have to get it by then.

Also, a lot of colleges allow you to fax in your transcript if it is faxed by the school. Ja ja ja, so check for your ranked colleges.
