OFFICIAL: RD Applicants Thread to Columbia College (Class of 2014)

International here too, applying RD.

applying RD

I’m applying RD. I’m really excited and feel really confident about my essay.

How many of you were deferred/rejected from EA or ED? (Like tristan101 I was deferred EA from Yale.)

applying RD
Born in India and raised in New York

Columbia has always been my dream school. I don’t know how I will face rejection.

Submitted few days ago! Woot :)

Okay, so great. Now we’ve got, say, a few months left. Anyone want to start the countdown on New Years til March 31st?

^^ that will only increase the anxiety

just applied a few days ago. i’ve got chills down my spine. So nervous!
I don’t think I’ve ever wanted anything this badly.

Oh yeah definitely true. We all have a long way to go, so it’d be best to chill out a bit.

SUBMITTED TODAY :)! I did my best.

I submitted mine yesterday. Just gotta wait now.

Good job to those who just submitted! (And good luck to those who haven’t yet.) 90 days of waiting lie ahead!

"The road in front of us is long as it is wide
We’ve got beginner’s luck
We’ve got it on our side

That will be my song for the next few months.

Hi all!

I’m from MN, and my interests at Columbia lie in Creative Writing, English, and Anthropology. I applied ED to Barnard and UChicago and was deferred at both places. Regular decision, I’ve applied to Harvard, Princeton, Swarthmore, Johns Hopkins, NYU, Vassar, the U of MN (accepted!), and Northwestern.

Good luck to you all! I’ll be around. :)

Columbia app officially submitted, though. I’m very happy with it.

^Why do people apply ED to more than one place? That’s cheating!

UChicago wasn’t even ED. It was EA.

Correct. U Chicago is early action, so applying to it along with an ED school is perfectly acceptable in most cases.

GUD LUCK GUYSSSS!
We have 4 months left until the decision day :o

Uhh no we don’t. If decisions come out March 31st/April 1st, we have three months.
