no, a sphere is just the shell. A ball is the shape you’re referring to, which is the are inside of the sphere. The inside of a sphere is empty.

The triangle with side of 8 and 11 with included angle of 38 degrees was 6.8 I thought. Using Law of Cosines we get that the side we want is the square root of 64+121-2811*cos(38).
