Some elite colleges require all scores so that’s why some people cancel if they don’t do great. Also, http://worldhistoryforusall.sdsu.edu/images/bigeras/era5/Major_Trade_Routes_of_Afroeurasia_c1300_CE.jpg
Anything else?
No not canceling besides I believe only UPenn and Princeton that doesn’t allow score choice. And honestly those are reach schools no matter what. But I think anything below a 700 should be retaken right?750 plus for top 10ish 20s. 700-750 is in the 80 percentile so definitely top 30s should be fine.
https://professionals.collegeboard.com/profdownload/sat-score-use-practices-list.pdf I’m still hoping that I made it in 90th percentile (770-780), on one of my practice tests I got a 770 which is the only reason I still have hope.
Thanks for this feed! So far I’m at around -6 incorrect with 0 omit so hopefully that holds true and I’m up there at an 800… good luck everyone! Just as a note, it was very interesting to take the test without the AP World History course (which isn’t offered at my school) because a lot of those questions on Islam and India were completely new to me. The redeeming thing about this test though, is that process of elimination is very helpful compared with most other Subject Tests. Hopefully everyone does well!
@LAD2266 That’s pretty amazing if you’re able to only miss 6 so far without taking AP World!
I had one of the highest averages in my grade for AP World, but it wasn’t because I was good at the tests–in fact, I got consistent Bs on every one. It was the essay side that made me do really well.
I just hope that my week of Barron’s cramming paid off and I got an 800.
After skimming this thread, if -14 = 800, I think I have a solid chance of getting an 800 (after APWH and AP euro). I’d be fine with anything over a 750, and really as long as I get 700, it doesn’t matter. Crossing my fingers for an 800 though.
Hey I’m so late to check this out and now looking at this thread I kinda wish I canceled my scores. The night before the sat subject I did a practice and scored a 330 and it was so so scary. I always seemed to do so well in AP world and usually would get high scores on tests out of all my teachers classes. I personally think I got overwhelmed with studying after the ap world exam and that. But then the day after the subject wh I did a practice test to see what I could pass oily score and scored a 780 so I’m quite confused lol…I still think I did terribly horrible and so nervous for results coming ahhhhh
*teacher’s
*possibly
Also if I retake it will colleges see both my scores or should I just let it be…again I think I did horrible
You probably scored your first practice test wrong, check the math again. Also wait until the scores come out this week.
REALLY looking forward to the score coming out on thursday… I thought I did really well on the test (compared to practice tests I did) so I am really hoping for a good score :) being positive
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bodhisattva#In_Therav.C4.81da_Buddhism also the question about mahayana vs theravada buddhism… i found here that both have boddhivistas so that can’t be the difference?
that Scores Available Soon thing on CollegeBoard kills me
Scared to death right now!!! Holy *** I know I did horrible…it’s already the 25 but I don’t want to check ahhhh
Why can’t I see my score? It says available but I can’t find it
Just got mine! I got an 800 and distinctly remember skipping a few, if that makes anyone feel better.
Congrat… i wonder how many u skip and got wrong???
WOW!! Congratulations!! Please tell me how you studied because I need to retake it again.
Lol I probably need to retake it again as well. I studied so much for this but did not get the score I thought I would get. I actually did worse than my original diagnostic score before all the studying.
I took AP world history this year, so having that background, plus studying for the AP exam and my final, definitely helped. I used AP review books-- the AP is usually harder than the subject test, so I think one can do that-- and the Barron’s AP World History review book was the best. If you haven’t taken a world history course, that book is a good overview, especially if you have all summer to study. If you have taken a world history course, you can use pretty much anything for practice questions, AP or SAT focus nonwithstanding.
In general, though:
- Do as many practice tests as you can, with real time limits.
- When you correct your practice tests, look at what you get wrong. If you consistently miss certain types of questions or questions pertaining to a certain place/time period, note those patterns and study those places/eras/question types more. Don’t waste time extensively reviewing what you already know.
- Know major ideas, trends and comparisons between these from region to region. Small details aren’t the majority of the focus here.
- Don’t stress! World history looks intimidating because of the amount of time covered. It’s not. You’ve got this and can do fine, and the curve seems to be relatively forgiving.
