Official SAT Subject Test - World History - June 2015

lol I took ap world, hardcore studied for this test, and still barely broke 700

@COCOthebunbun12 same. are you gonna retake it?

Guys what’s your opinion on a 700 score for USC,NYU,Michigan University. Too low for UCLA,UCB? Definitely retaking though but opionions on score ranges between 700-750 what schools would it’s seem ok

I think it depends on your major, if it’s STEM, then 700 WH won’t matter much.
It’s going to be so hard remembering everything until October.

I got 750 this time after taking it 2 times before (/screaming internally). I went from 620 -> 700 -> 750. The moment I took it immediately after AP World, I was not at all prepared. There were so many questions (95) and five answer choices for each question. I didn’t have enough time to finish at all. I didn’t really study for the first and second times though, which may explain why I did so badly. I read the entire Barron’s book in one week before this test and got a decent score. Just read the Barron’s book tailored for the SAT subject test and get the official College Board book which has 2 practice tests for both this and USH. I got 770 on USH with just AMSCO. The curve for World is much more generous than USH but its also harder because of its large scope. Watching crash course may also be helpful, I watched it for certain areas that I couldn’t cram with reading. Also keep in mind that this test is only offered in December and June. Good luck!

Dude thanks for the tip, I actually didn’t know it was only offered in June and December. Guess I’m not retaking.

Ayyy got an 800. Will give some tips:
Alright so I had an AP world history teacher that was an easy grader but gave a ton of homework. One thing she made us do was annotate the ENTIRE Barrons AP world history book. So many of my friends BS’ed it but I actually decided to pay attention and read. I did this because I had no idea what to expect on the AP test. Although this barrons book was not much help in preparing for the AP test,it turns out that basically everything that is tested on the SAT is in that barrons book. What we learned from Strayer, our textbook, was good enough for the AP test but wouldn’t have been enough for the SAT.
Other stuff I did to prepare for the AP test:

  1. Watched all of the videos on getafive
  2. Took close to 20 practice tests
  3. Read through all of Strayer (our textbook)

I got 800 so no more wh in my life.

Good

750 after taking AP world but not studying at all after the AP exam
