**Official SAT World History Thread 2014**

That’s definitely an 800, based on previous tests

Yeah, you can get 17-18 wrong and still have an 800.

Are you sure you don’t mean omit? 18 wrong would be 18 + 5 = 23 marks off 95. Which is like a score of 72 (would be a 760 based on college board scoring charts).

This test was actually so much fun. I liked it much more than AP World.

which of the greek city states offered high status to women? was it sparta?

yup

Q:what was the quote about herding instead of farming.

Q: whats the diff between mesoamerica and chinese tribute system

I looked at another curve chart and that’s what it said. Here it is: http://highschool.gardencity.k12.ny.us/UserFiles/Servers/Server_881339/File/Counseling/SAT%20Subject%20Test%20Resource%20Guide.pdf</a>.</p>

^That’s exactly the same as the Collegeboard one

I’ve been reading the forums for awhile but never decided to jump in (Hi guys[and girls]!) but I took this today and wow, if anyone used Barron’s this was reeallllyyy easy compared to that. A lot of stuff on Islam and too little on philosophy though:/

@WilliamSmithers‌ How do you think you did? TBH I found the Barron tests way easier lol

15 wrong, 2 omitted?

@HvePassion I thought did really well, Barrons just caught me on areas I’m not as familiar with, which I then practiced, which then weren’t on the test hahaha. Did you notice that on the first practice test for Barrons one of the answers was wrong? The one about who founded the Tokugawa Shogunate.

I was kinda nervous after the test, but if the curve is as generous as you guys say, I think I might get an 800.
Even if you didn’t do well, you can still take the Dec one, or just take US History to show your Social Studies competence.

Do you know which colleges require all SAT subject scores?

I’d suggest you look around, particularly at the websites of the schools you’re looking at but this is relatively comprehensive http://professionals.collegeboard.com/profdownload/sat-score-use-practices-list.pdf</a> I believe it also applies to subject tests.

None of the colleges mention anything about subject tests so I guess we just assume the score choice applies to both? Will colleges actually know if I withhold a score?

No I don’t think they’d know but if they did find out there would be consequences I’m sure. It’s not a super big deal if a score is lowish but you improve on it. If it’s terrible blame it on illness or something.

I remember there was a passage on the crusades. Was the answer something like they couldn’t get enough people to stay in the conquered areas?
