OFFICIAL SAT1 Thread

"The Verbal section with 3 short passages WAS NOT experimental. Every single person had this section. You either had the Quantitive Comp/Grid-Ins (the 2nd one was experimental) or the verbal section with a passage about Nixon (I'm not sure what questions it had, I just know I didn't have this section)."

Uhm, I had neither a section on Nixon nor a second quantcomp/gridin. And I had an extra verbal section.

I had 3 verbal passages, just one comp/grid-ins.....however, I do not remeber having a Nixon one...

All sections were normal in the one I took.. no difference at all.. except the 3 short passages section.. so how can u conclude that it was NOT experimental? it may be or may be not.. not all get the same experimental section right..

hey franklinbrown, did your extra verbal section have short passages and a mini dual passage? Because I had that for experimental.

I had the Nixon passage...and that was a passage on the Nov 03 test. So, doesn't that mean it was experimental then and real now?

I had no Nixon passage, so it can't be real. Just because they used along time ago doesn't mean its real, although it does seem pointless.

slipstream do you remember if that blueprint:structure question was in the chimp section?

sorry, but i have absolutely no idea...i'm lucky if I can remember the questions at all

How would I know if its extra! I thought it was experimental but I don't know.

It had two pages with three short passages, one about chimps, another about the Spanish language, and another about a smooth traveller with a club soda.

I don't see why they would do an experimental section one year ago and then make it experimental again...seems like a waste of experimentation

franklinbrown, did you have a mini dual passage in your experimental verbal?????????

What do You think will be the score on math with one error?
770?

What do you mean by a "mini dual passage"?

And by experimental are you referring to the one with short passages (chimps, spanish, suave traveller)?

no

mini dual passage = 2 passages about clocks

I had nothing about clocks.

Or Nixon.

jpsi, this is not the PSAT. 1 wrong will be 800 or 790.

franklinbrown, the chimps + spanish was NOT experimental, you said so yourself.
I can't believe i'm the only one, but did anyone have a double passage, you know with questions comparing the two, except instead of large like the last section with the hiker, it is small like the chimp passage.

thank you vitamin1. for answering my questions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

experimental, i always felt, it tends to be easier and weird problems that u never could imagine to appear on the SAT.............so i guessed the mini passages is the experimental part......plus the analogies of that section was easier than the other ones.

ok just wanna make sure about the verbar sections and what they contained

VERBAL 35Q: chimps
spanish ppl
suave guy OR jewelry?????

VERBAL 35Q:twinkle twinkle star astronomers
watchmakers-dual passage

VERBAL 30Q:korean girl???

is this right?

"franklinbrown, the chimps + spanish was NOT experimental, you said so yourself."

When did I say that?!
