Well all I was trying to do was be optimistic, Mr. Negative...

zoogies 220 is an accomplishment so get off your high horse and get a life.

It's an accomplishment...but it would be a deprovement from last year, so it's not really an accomplishment at the same time...and it's below semifinalist levels.

Zoogies - What did you get sophomore year? I got a 220 (with a 67 M!), but I thought there was no way to go but up b/c of my math score (I'm in BC Calc this year, I think last test was just an abberation).

To find the sum of the 1-48 inclusive sequence, I remembered a handy formula that was posted on the old CC on one of those SAT math prep threads...

n(a + b)
2

where n = the number of terms in the sequence, a = the first term of the sequence, and b = the last term in the sequence.

what's the cutoff for WA?

I got 223. 77 Math, 80 Writing (coughfluke*cough), 66 Verbal. It would really suck if I made the cutoff sophomore year but not junior year...

Setzwxman, do you know the formulas for just the odd or even? Because that's going to annoy me...

Can you predict my score:

-3 grid ins in math
-4 critical reading
-3 writing

Yeah, my writing last year was really high, too. Last year - 78 W, 75 CR, 67 M.

tcuhna, probably about a 220.

I just realized that, for most people I calculated for (before tcuhna) I accidentally overestimated by 2-3 points. Sorry about that.

anyone want to predict my score?

-3 multiple choice math
-1 grid in
-10 verbal
2 verbal omitted
-3 writing
2 writing omitted

(i'm only a freshman though):D

tx46, you probably got about a 203.

Ehhh, I'm guessing:
-1 m/c in math (horrible curve...this would amount to around 76)

used to get 80 in writing, now get high 60's
around 67-75 in CR

Means I could make the CA cutoff for semi.

I hope someone scans in the test...then the answers I stored in my calculator won't be useless.

Zoogies, I do not know of a formula to determine the sums of a sequence when they use odd or even parameters. Perhaps someone else knows. I, personally, used my calculator (quickly!) to add up all of the numbers for I and II, and then used that formula for III.

"I, personally, used my calculator (quickly!) to add up all of the numbers for I and II, and then used that formula for III."
I don't know if you've already been told this or not (if so I will just sound annoying), but you could've simply added 49 and 50.

is nmsct really that important anyways?

Does anyone have a scanned copy of today's test to share?

i hope so..

Yea...Officially, all people who want to take the PSAT took it already...Okay, well, except for a few who I hear are taking it on the 20th (?).

No guilty conscience!
