LOL @criminai… i have heard that ACT raw score - scale score conversion table is actually determined before actual ACT test… so… they already have the curve. T.T… lool… unless they decide to change their curve after seeing our grades, we all are screwed T.T… well yeh… I had freaking 12 minutes left when I got to PassageVII… so I thought it will be pretty chill… then I still couldn’t get that passage right employing all the 12 minutes… so stupid…
but hmm… the first question of that last passage was A, i thought, when it was asking “what two hypotheses try to answer” i dont remember the choice… so thats not helpful probably… lol

LETS START A QUESTION LIST( A MAJORITY OF US AGREE THE SCIENCE TEST WAS RAPE, let’s just move on to the questions and discuss answers)

Question on the last passage. Asking about percentage for two different compounds?
Split was 50%/50%

Question on the last passage. It asked what differed about the two hypotheses.
Scientist 2 said that ssDNA was the one that acted as a template (scientist 1 siad dsDNA–not part of the answer btw)

I thought it was 100 percent N14 and 0 percent N15.

@Imdad1

Are you sure those are correct, or are those the ones you weren’t sure of? I put those answers for both questions, but I was kind of rushing.

@Imdad1. “scientist said that ssDNA was the one…” was that B?

Everyone call and complain! That was unbelievably irresponsible for them to put that on there. I think they probably decided that they wanted more than their current 99.9% profit margin so they just used MIT’s final exam for the science section.

@vgfanatic2 I know for sure 2 is right and 1 i guessed that but 3 other people so far have confirmed it. correct the list if its wrong and add whatever you can and kudosjisoo yes it was on my test. Idk if they’re all the same. I had form 70D.

ADD TO THE LIST GUYS

hey guys I could really use your help! If anyone remembers which bubbles they filled in for the last passage, I would really appreciate it. Here’s what I put:
(assuming all are A, B, C, D)

C,B,A,D,B,A,D

can anyone remember their bubble pattern? much appreciated!

I honestly don’t think the science was that bad…

I had form 70D (Did everyone?) as well, and I’m near certain that the answers Imdad just gave were correct. I’ll add a question that stuck out to me as definitely right on the last test: For the question that asked which hypotheses were supported (or refuted, I can’t remember which, and it doesn’t actually matter for this particular question) by vial 1, I chose neither, because the DNA had yet to replicate, so the outcomes predicted by the hypotheses had not had time to prove true (or false, for that matter).

there was a graph that had different levels of salinity

why the hell was this so long and hard!!!

Anyone remember the bubble pattern for the last column in the science section (the last 5 questions)?

Lower temp = Lower D
So the one with the lower D was cooler, right?

What about boiling points?

On my last practice test I got a 36 for the Science, incredibly confident I sat down today expecting at least a 33… I’m thinking lucky, 30.

Lower temp = Lower D
The one with the Lower d was cooler.

Guys!!! Please, can someone tell me what the bubble pattern for the last 5 questions was??

bump wcclirl444’s question:

Anyone remember the bubble pattern for the last column in the science section (the last 5 questions)?

I emailed this to the ACT

To whom it may concern:

I found it disheartening that for the people who spent in the hundreds of hours studying largely from the red book for today’s exam, the science section was almost a slap in the face. It had no comparison in difficulty to the practice tests, and there was no way to finish it on time and understand the last two sections. As someone who has spent his entire summer obsessing over every last detail of this test, I can’t say anything else besides that I am let down. My lowest score on any of your practice science sections was a 30, and I am praying to god that I got a 25 on today’s section.

For a good idea of how many people who have spent equal or larger amounts of time preparing for this exam, I suggest you read this thread in the College confidential ACT section:

Does anyone remember about the boiling point one?

It asked which of the 3 had boiling points over 100.
