Your no the only one I also thought math was a bit more difficult then Red Book.

There weren’t any problems particularly difficult in math, although I finished with only 10 mins remaining, when I usually have 15.

I’m thinking:

2-3 in English - 34 or so
2-3 in Math - 34 or so (hopefully; I only know of one question that I was completely unsure of so it could be higher but it could also be lower)
0-1 in Reading - 35 or 36 (got a 35 on the June ACT’s reading section so I’m hoping that I get a 36)
2-3 in Science - 32 or 33 hopefully

Realistically high 33 or low 34, wishfully thinking mid-high 34 or 35.

The essay doesn’t matter for me because I got a 10 on essay I wrote for the June ACT. My first choice (Tufts) superscores the ACT so I’m basically just hoping to get to a 33 or 34. I already have a 32(.25) composite score, so improving one point in any subsection will bring me up to a 33. The reading I don’t think will go up, but the Math/English I am very hopefully for. This math section was MUCH easier than the June ACT in my personal opinion. There was only a single standout question in terms of how hard it was, but I thought it was pretty poorly worded and unclear, but that’s probably just my bias because I probably got it wrong

Superscored, this is what I’m going to go out on a limb and guess:

33-34 English
33-34 Math
35-36 Reading
32-33 Science
33-34 Composite

Good luck to everyone that took the ACT today, hopefully we don’t have to retake the ACT in October!

For the essay, how many pages did you all have remaining (if any)?

I didnt really find the science difficult, jus one of the 5 question ones.

@micmatt513, im from Canada so i dnt know too much about the schools there, besides the ivies and what not, is a 32 not more than good enough for Tufts, it’s certainly good enough for the ivies, not a 34+ but still, its a great score.

@Koreankid227 I had about a page and three quarters left. I filled two full pages and about a quarter to one third of the next one. With about this much written I got a 10 on the first essay I wrote, so I’m pretty confident that’s more than enough.

@manas1997 I would hope so, but from people that I’ve heard from it’s really competitive especially for the major that I want (Biomedical Engineering). I don’t really want to chase a perfect score, but I would like a 33 or 34. If I end up staying with a 32, which is highly unlikely considering that I already have a 32.25 and really only need one point higher in any subsection, I won’t be ecstatic, but I won’t be completely dejected either. I’m hoping that this is the last standardized test I take though. I guess I should be happy with a 32, but I know that I could do better so I am giving it one or two last tries. If it doesn’t amount to anything then so be it.

does anyone remember what the graph for the …

MODERATOR’S NOTE: NO DISCUSSION OF QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS! If I see any more, I will give a major warning (jail bars).

are we allowed to discuss the answers on monday after everyone hase written?

MODERATOR’S NOTE: No.

and are scores for ontario tests coming out in a mere nine days?

First time (and last, unfortunately) taking the ACT. I didn’t expect the time crunch on the Science section and I had to completely guess on a question (when I did the science sections in the Red Book I always had a few minutes over)…

English (-1 minimum)
Math (-0 min)
Reading (-0 min)
Science (-1 to -4)

@manas1997 ok it was not tooo bad, but compared to what I am used to, it was a step up. I expected 2-3 questions that would take at least 5 minutes, but there were at least 6 I ended up guessing on. oh I did not know people have to written the test yet.

MODERATOR’S NOTE: Anyone who mentions another question and/or answer will be given a major warning.

What did we ever sign that said we couldn’t discuss the questions?

I’m pretty sure you do when you register online. Also, the conditions statement we all have to write.

@austin23 @MaineLonghorn online and in person you agree to and sign a statement saying that you will not discuss any questions or answers on or out of the classroom. Since you used your signature, it is illegal to contradict the statement.

From the test itself:

“1. Read the following Statement: By submitting this answer sheet, I agree to the terms and conditions set fourth in the ACT registration booklet or website for this exam, including the arbitration and dispute remedy provisions. I understand that ACT owns the test questions and responses and affirm that I will not share any of the questions or responses with anyone by an form of communication.”

Oh yeah now i remember

Why is it that test questions can’t be discussed? Do they reuse the tests when administering the them internationally or something?

I don’t think so for international testers but sunday testers probably take the same one

I thought the English section was fairly easy, the math was hard/I didn’t have enough time. The reading was okay but the science was a bit of a time crunch as well. Hoping I don’t have to take it again…and I’m hoping for some generous curves!
