Official Spring 2012 Cornell Transfer Thread

sure! I’ll PM anyone who requests it.

Congrats lauraja! Did you receive your notification via e-mail or snail mail?

snail mail. I wish you the best of luck, deadhead. From what I’ve read over this thread, you are really committed and surely deserve it.

Lauraja could you PM me your stats as well? Thanks

also, I am still unable to log in to housing. So don’t worry if you can’t. It does not necessarily mean you won’t be accepted :)

Congrats lauraja!

Interesting that we’ve dispelled the housing myth.

still nothing in the mailbox…

Haven’t checked mailbox yet - but not optimistic.

Hey Guys,

Being an international student and not knowing much about the system here. Is it normal for universities to give decisions this long?

Because in my country, there is a set date whereby applicants will be notified. Accepted or Rejected, all in one day.

Please enlighten me.

Yup still nothing for me.

@Kitchensoldier This is a rolling decision system which is pretty common. For freshman applicants Cornell does release all decisions on one day though.

@transfersoon, I’m curious to know why Cornell doesn’t notify transfers in the same fashion they do for freshman. Most schools have the ability for you to go online and check the status of your application - I did it for Baruch, Rutgers, and TCNJ. I think it would be more convenient for both Cornell and applicants.

I can’t say that it is normal, but it is strange for them to release their decisions on a sort of pseudo-rolling basis. They could make it much easier to just set a date. It would make this entire month less terrorizing.

Does anybody know why Cornell notify through snail mail only instead of maybe both e-mail and snail mail?

Thanks

^They will send you both snail mail and email, we were just worrying about which comes first. In some cases like two AEM applicants, people got email first, but there are plenty of others got the big envelope first.

forgot one thing, the rejected letter doesn’t come with email, the email is about the course equivalence form.

Does anyone receive a rejected letter? I called Cornell admission to ask the admission report, and they said they sent a letter using FEDEX.

My stats are not enough to get admitted, so it must be a rejection letter.
But, it seems no one has received the rejected letter yet, so am I the first one getting the letter?

So what is your stats

All I know is that I’ll probably be one of the first to get rejected, so I’ll let you know.

I won’t be able to do this as I’m in school all day but, would any CALS be willing to call and ask for a decision over the phone? I think last year’s thread some people were doing that after November 15th.

Were they given a response promptly? If so, I’ll go for it.
