***Official Stanford RD 2016 Applicants' Discussion Thread***

Two weeks? That’s a long time for something like this :p

@ermsypermsy

I agree!! I’m not even nervous because this is so unreal…
I think I’ll get nervous starting next week…

If they send me an acceptance letter and say anything along the lines of ‘april fool’s! REJECTED’ I’ll sue Stanford for emotional damages D:

^ L.O.L

+10chars

i think Yale accidentally sent 10,000 acceptance letters on April 1st one year by accident, caused a conundrum…

Something that really gets my stomach in knots is knowing that our fates are probably already decided by now… we just don’t know them… AH.

^ shouldn’t that make you less worried?
Decision has already been made–come what may?

It makes me all the more anxious really! :O

It’s unhealthy how many times I check this forum. However, it does a fairly decent job of calming my nerves. A little under two weeks and I’ll know where I’ll be next year. AHH!

Anyone know the softest brand of tissues? I’m going to be crying either way so I’m trying to stock up.

smewshie, you just made me laugh  I’m up late right now checking the forums, too. I’m still waiting on 10 college decisions so I’m slightly worked up about it :stuck_out_tongue: I’m not sure what the softest brand of tissues is, but I’m a faithful Kleenex fan  I’m right there with you, I’ll probably be crying on a couple of these.

Good! Maybe if I get rejected I can become a comedian. You know what else is funny? I only applied to 3 colleges. Stanford is my first choice and the last one I hear back from. Good luck on yours though! I hope you get in  Are you getting them all on April 1 or earlier?

I’ll try to find the aloe Kleenex, thanks!

@smewshie: Thanks for bringing some humor into this… if it weren’t for people like you, I think the world would go through a lot more facial tissues… Best of luck with Stanford, though!

I’ve decided to come back on decision day and share my aloe tissues and jokes with you guys since you’re being so nice :’)

1 week, 4 days, 15 hours…yes, I have a countdown on my phone

Do you all have acceptances in your hands now of schools that you’d be happy to go to, or will Stanford’s decision date, and maybe Ivy day, be the sink-or-swim decision day for you? I do have an acceptance to a school I would be happy to go to, so I THINK if the last 3 decisions are denies, I will be a little disappointed, but otherwise fine.

I’ve got nothing in hand so far. Applied to Stanford, Yale, Amherst, Oberlin, Barnard, Vassar, Bates and Grinnell and I’d be jumping up and down for an acceptance anywhere. I should be notified by them starting in two days so I’m getting pretty nervous.

I got the full-ride&more scholarship at my state university, so that helps assuage a lot of anxiety. Although I’m extremely thankful for that option, I still really, really hope I have more choices by April 1st. Good luck, everyone!

The April 1st date is obviously not happening. It’s going to be March 29th/March 30th.

Good luck to all of those who don’t want to get in, for only the undesiring deserve.

^ I would be delighted if it were the 23rd haha

For me it’s sink or swim on Ivy day-- although I probably shouldn’t put this on the Stanford forum, I’m totally going to Yale if I get in there. I really do love Stanford though, it’s just less close to heart because I’ve never been there.

@MisaMysa: wow, ambitious  I’m still waiting on Oberlin, too, have you heard anything about that?

Frankly, I just wish all the schools would give us a concrete day other than “before April.”

I’m surprisingly not thinking about decisions as much as I thought I would be at this point!
