Official Stanford RD Decisions Countdown

^^haha me either. I actually have developed a ranking of which decisions I’m going to check first but I keep changing them around. Although I would still keep Stanford last so that if I get rejected, it won’t be the first rejection I see lol.

Sigh. I now have something to take my mind off of such things: asking a friend to prom this week. Fortunately or unfortunately, the day I ask her is the same day I’ll likely receive Stanford’s notification: sometime this week.

Sorry to disappoint anybody who thought it would be earlier, but the official Stanford Admissions News says they will be releasing the decisions on Friday, April 1 after 3PM.

Thanks imnobodyx… However, past years’ release cycles have shown that Stanford prefers to do so earlier than the 1st if possible. Oh yeah, and that announcement is old news. :P

I love people like imnobodyx. They’re so innocent and CC-clueless.

Grading period ending this Thursday; same time as these admissions decisions. It really bites. I’m trying to focus on finishing schoolwork, but the college acceptances/rejections period is really distracting now. I wish I could breathe!

I’ve got some great news guys!

My next door neighbor is on the Stanford admission board.

Anyway, my dog was over at their house playing with the neighbor’s dog the other day. And as they were having dinner at the time, I figured they would probably have been talking about admissions etc. So when my dog returned I decided to try to get something out of it (my dog is actually a fairly proficient mind-reader and speaks English, German and Catalan fluently). So I looked good ol’ Sparky (my dog’s name) straight in the eye and told him: “Sparky, if decisions are out before Monday 8pm PST, bark twice!”.

Sure thing, Sparky responded with two quick (but distinct) barks of supreme quality.

As you I’m sure you guys will agree - this can only mean one thing:

Decisions will be out before April the 1st…

ok, thats a little strange

stevierimbaud…I like the way you think

My optimism is restored!

stevierimbaud, if that’s really true, that your neighbor is on the admissions board at Stanford, I would walk over ring his doorbell and ask him personally!

It has the possibility to be seen as “taking the initiative”, or consequently you could be seen as a creepo! (For going to his house to ask about admissions release dates).

It had to be so weird for the adcomm, he could be reading your file, and he sees your address and he’s like *** this is my neighbor.

If I was the adcomm I would ensure that you’re accepted (I’d be scared for my life, you could kill me in my sleep).

Haha, pretty sure Stevierimbaud was joking!

Check the location. How many adcoms would you hazard to guess live in some random country in Scandinavia?

Though, he/she receives props for creativity!

He probably was, but how weird would it be if you were an ad-comm and a prospective student sought you out!

I expect tomorrow at 3 pm. Stanford always likes to one up the ivies. So probably Tuesday

Nothing today :frowning: so sad

Just remember, Stanford has a new director of admissions this year. He may actually do things differently.

Why would stanford go against the official release date?

^Because they always do. I can’t remember the last time Stanford actually released decisions on the day they said they would. Does anyone else? For the last several years (in both EA and RD) they have released early.

Well I guess today is out of the question, unless Stanford is waiting to announce it on their website later.

Haha, guys - come on! Of course I was kidding…

Although StanfordCS, that would have been pretty freaky!

kitkatkate989, I don’t like your referral of Scandinavian countries as random!! We are vikings! Haha, I probably shouldn’t complain though. There is a reason I’m going to the US next year, after all… =)

No if Stanford does release decisions today, it’s going to be after 3PM PST so they don’t have to answer phone calls!
