Official Stanford RD Decisions Countdown

I can vouch for the “earlier than stated” line. EA decisions were to come out Dec. 15, but actually came two days earlier. I heard that you will know what day it is because they will post something on their admissions blog that day, and it is a day the is within a day or two range of the Ivies.
Stanford did have a big spike in the number of applications this year. Maybe they will actually realease when they said they would… Although I really hope they release early

Stay sunny side up, sunny. ;D Wish you the best of luck.

4 years ago they released on April 1st, I think.

@sunny11

the number of applicants will not be the reason for a change in date. They’ve made all the decisions already.

I mean, seriously. like 3 days more just because they have more applicants?

Actually, it is not entirely implausible. If it was a significant amount more than usual of acceptances, they may attempt to make space for the volume of traffic. On a more realistic note, they may do some last minute interviews or reviews of those truly on the fence and a higher volume of apps may mean more than usual are on that fence. However, I do admit it would not be 3 days more just to do this.

My point is who really knows? There was a spike in applicants, so it might have taken them longer to decide. There is a new admissions guy, maybe he wanted to do things differently. As of march 24th, they were not completely finished. So they could release tonight or Friday. After waiting 4 months, another 4 days won’t kill anyone.

I have a friend who got into Stanford last year and took a year off. He just said that he “got into Stanford again” on Facebook, implying that he just received information welcoming him to the class of 2015…maybe is a good sign for early news?

Major speculation of course, and it’s all futile, but fun!

Decisions could release in one minute.

…but probably not

Good luck, everybody. Whether decisions come today, tomorrow, or later, and whether you are accepted, waitlisted, or rejected, things will work out.

there goes 3PM PST today  my money’s still on tomorrow for decisions then

Bueno suerte, gente!

Actually, it could be 5PM PST :)

Don’t they update the blog in the morning that decisions will be released?

Yes.
10char count

@Updawg: sure seems that way for release cycles the last couple years.

So we really only need to wait until 12 PM PST to know if decisions will be released tomorrow… not 3 or 5.

Everyday, at 12:15 EST, I check the Stanford undergrad admissions news…

^Dang .

they should just admit everybody on Apr. 1st, then send April Fools emails to 96% of the applicants.
