Official Stanford RD Decisions Countdown

@Kitkatkate
I’m in the exact same boat. :(

@kimathi: arg.

Lildot… I know. I know!

You’d think an MIT acceptance would make the wait any easier… IT DOESN’T!!

At least we will probably know in less than a week. :(

i really hope we find out soon!

Anyone up for a rousing game of “Talk about something vaguely related”?

I’ll start: “Winston Churchill was more convincing than Justin Bieber when it comes to urging people to persevere.”

No contest really- Cometh the hour, cometh the man

Stanford-related though… Football team’s chances in 2011?

I hope that P(Stanford wins)>P(getting in to Stanford)

That’s kind of a depressing statement of probability.
So a massive earthquake is likely to hit the bay area in the next couple years. Is living on a fault a good idea?

I’ve heard this said before, and will repeat it: there is no single location in the world that is immune to a natural disaster, especially in the States. On the East Coast you have hurricanes, blizzards, etc. Midwest you have tornadoes. West Coast you have earthquakes. That’s only the US too.

On a side note, the city that I live in in California actually sits about a block away from the San Andreas fault, so I’m already in prime danger. :confused:

Anyway, I have friends telling me not to count down, but it’s something that I can’t seem to force myself to stop doing. You guys (and girls lol) have a full week ahead? My week is pretty empty right now, so it’ll be pretty hard to keep my mind off of the situation.

When you have the future number 1 draft pick, on your team you have a very good shot of going all the way. Andrew Luck>Peyton Manning!!!

Hurricane rarely get as far north as the Carolinas, and blizzards rarely far into Virginia.

However my point is that in relation to the Japanese and other Earthquakes, the Pacific plate is disturbed, so the chances of a bad earthquake is worse.

How can you countdown, though, when you don’t know what to?

It is almost certain that the decisions will be posted this Friday! I remember back in REA, a lot of people found us very premature in making a similar claim, but alas it came to be. :)

Any idea as to what time will decisions will be released on Friday? (I’d have to do the time adjustments that’s why)

So, decisions are coming by e-mail?

They’re usually posted at 3 PM Pacific Standard Time.

possibly this Friday? so anxious!

@Oversimplistic: No matter what, “disasters” or at least some form of natural “movement” is bound to happen, anywhere and at any time.

Also as far as counting down goes, I have my sights set to Friday. The Mac widget I made is set for Friday at 12:00AM, not 3PM (though it’s a good idea!) lol. So that’s what I’m referencing. I’m just that type of person; I like to know what’s going on and when.

PS: Has anyone dreamt of Stanford yet? Last night I found myself dreaming of (pretty sure it was) Admit Weekend… :(

Haha @Sleet: I dreamt of Stanford earlier in the year already…haha, however, for the past few days, Ive seen more Stanford references than usual…saw 5 cars with Stanford bumper/window stickers in less than 10 min…lol coincidence?

^Yes… Stanford bumper stickers aren’t exactly rare in California (I’m assuming that’s where you’re from). But Good Luck all the same :)
