I don’t know why anyone would take the chance of going over the maximum word count… The character count is a suggestion, but the word count is explicitly stated… I think it’s just a big risk to take.

What we have discussed/blabbered about till now v. 1

How much personal information are we allowed to share on here? I feel like there has been a plethora of shallow conversation (albeit with lots of information shared), which has caused us to become kind of face-less. I think what made the 2014 thread so cool was their stories… Each person’s distinct personalities came through in their posts. So anyone willing to share something about themselves?

I’ll start… I’m the motherly type who just wants everyone to get along and attempts to facilitate as much bonding as possible :)

Lol, that’s a pretty good summary :p

I’m the linguist/polyglot who’s obsessed with logic games and puzzles, enjoys math and physics, but also has a huge appreciation for the fine and performing arts. I really would like to attend more concerts/plays/dramatic productions… too bad tickets are often so expensive I’m also really into international relations. One of my high school dreams that never worked out involved me becoming a really active member of Amnesty International, perhaps even rising to an officer position in my school chapter. When I was an 8th grader and received the high school handbook, I read the club description and was excited, only to arrive at school the following year and find that the club had been discontinued due to lack of student interest.

I wonder if Stanford has something similar to that…

WOW, we’re different It’s nice, here in Springfield we get a lot of the Broadway B shows, which aren’t QUITE as good, but are a lot less expensive. I’m sure Stanford has something like that though!

Actually, it does. I just did a Google search and found out that Stanford has its own chapter of Amnesty International. Definitely joining that if I end up attending!

as for me… well… I’m like fledgling, just subtract the international relations, and add to it theoretical physics, debate and environment conservation. I love playing chess, and tinkering around with computers (both hardware and software). I’m a metal-head, and… an open-source activist :p

I’m the guy who looks normal, is the center of the party, likes to joke around, but then is a giant nerd once you get to know me! I’ve been inventing and building things since I was old enough to hold a screw driver. I recently invented a cell phone that recharges itself and won a science comp with it.

I do a lot of community service and I enjoy it. I also enjoy working with under privileged students. Honestly, my favorite thing to do is learn and let others learn. I am fascinated by the world around me.

Eg - I was driving back from a weekend conference. A bird dropped a package on my windshield… All i could think of was the statistical chance of that happening to me! I am pretty normal in other aspects though, I DJ, party, and have a great social life.

Best of all - I’m home schooled :D

It’s nice how people are talking about themselves. Gives faces to all the anxious college applicants who otherwise seem the same!

YEah definitely! I enjoy knowing that i’m not alone, but at the same time, you guys are my competition XD

Haha yeah. So i’m applying RD but what the hell…

Okay so I LOVE reading, my favourite activities are debating and MUN and I’m really into international relations. Basketball is my favouritestest sport. I’m pretty nerdy when it comes to politics related stuff. Though I’m really outgoing and do party and have a pretty active social life. I love traveling and seeing new places and things and meeting new people. I want to learn four more languages(i currently speak two and a half. lol. The half being my French). I love dogs! Oh and i talk a lot. What else? hmm. Umm, well people say I’m occasionally dominating, though my being very tall (at least for Asian standards) might have something to do with that. :)

a note: " What we have discussed/blabbered about till now ™ " will be available once every page (whenever possible) to keep everyone notified, and to help make the thread awesomely long :D

and I’m loving this applicant info thing too hope more people drop in :p

What parts of the country are y’all coming from?

I’m Asian.

I’m from Kathmandu. Nepal xD

Lol seems like lots of people are where do you live?

That wasn’t directed towards you, sabaraj I’m from Springfield Missouri where 95% of the city is white and Christian and a cow is never more than a mile away… :)

Let’s see. My background’s slightly more complicated/interesting… I currently hail from the West Coast (southern California) but I lived in Michigan just last year, and in Singapore during my underclassman years and a sizable number of years before that. I’ve also lived in different parts of Canada for 3 years :p

Oh wow sabaraj that sounded mean. I meant I was reasking kaira where he/she was from because it wasn’t specified in the post. I wasn’t meaning to reask you why are you guys all on in the middle of the day? Also, is sharing full names allowed? I’d love to put a name to a face on Facebook
