*Official* Stanford REA 2015 Applicants' Discussion Thread

it’s night for me! i don’t mind. pm me your name! i’ll add you. :)

Oh so weird! It’s 9:30 am here! My name is Courtney Tay  I encourage you all to add me on facebook!

the one in central high?

Yes! Thanks guys!

@courtneyenpointe

it’s sarbaraj, not sabaraj.

thanks :)

I’m sorry- I’m on my phone so I can’t see your post (and therefore your name) when I’m posting. My apologies- I’m not usually so careless!

I’m originally from South Africa, but I live TN. I also hold British citizenship.

Wooow! You guys are from all over the place! I can only imagine! :)

Yeah even I’m surprised by that. I thought 90% of the student body was American. Unless of course they accept less international students/ int. students are more addicted to CC. Lol.

@Jasonvdm- I just read your post properly. You invented a PHONE? WOW.

What we have discussed/blabbered about till now v. 2

Good lucks to everyone

Wulfran’s EC

fledgling’s CommonApp is complete!

3 Deadly Supplements

REA vs. RD Acceptance Rate

Music Supplement

Schools we may apply to in RD

Student Stats

Where we live

I have completed the future plans section (about my intended majors and career plan) and it does not appear on the common app when I click preview.

Does anybody have an explanation for that?

And do you guys reckon it is unacceptable to exceed the word limit by 10-20 words? I really really can’t eliminate any other words.

^

I think 10 words will be fine. They won’t count each and every word now, will they xD

and I’m done with my 3 deadly supplements too. Showing them to my GC + a friend tomorrow :D

But I’ll keep on improving and submit on Oct 31ish…

Thank you.

And another question: In my country, all 9th graders take the same classes, all 10th graders take the same classes and so on. No such thing as AP. We have 18 subjects or so and we earn an average of 1-10 for each subject. Then the arithmetic mean of these averages is calculated and this is the GPA. Is it weighted or unweighted?

^ That would be unweighted.

Yeah, I invented a phone that recharges itself whereever the user goes… :D

do you think they care about when you actually submit it?
i have everything done, but I just don’t want to submit just yet…anyone else like this

I have the supplement and common application ready but it won’t let me submit because my Romanian Kick-Ass School does not have a bloody CEEB code. And I do not see how this could change in the near future. Anyone help, please???

Go to find your high school. Don’t enter anything, and hit the search button TWICE. Click on school not found link.

@ripemango

I don’t think they care. Improve on it as much as you like. I am doing the same :)

Actually, I’ve heard that submitting last minute looks sloppy and is frowned upon. Not sure how accurate this is, just something a friend who visited Washington St Louis told me that they had told him.

Ripemango- I’m the exact same way! I should be relieved to be done and be able to submit, but I’m not quite ready to yet!! There are always minor revisions that can be made :)
