Not really. They just get to know what it says. It’s not boosting chances of admission.

Is anyone attaching a resume?

Is anyone attaching a resume?

Are you talking about getting to see your recs giving you an unfair advantage? If so, how does it? I don’t get to see mine, but I don’t see how it’d give me an advantage if I did

I’m not attaching a resume. If I were going to submit something with the additional writing section, it’d be another essay. I’ve heard that helps more.

@kaira07
Stanford has specifically instructed us to not attach a resume.

@courtneyenpointe
well… hypothetically, you could make 4 teachers write u recos, see them all, and send the best 2.

You could… but wouldn’t that be, um, disrespectful to the 2 teachers whose recs you didn’t use? :/

I’m writing more about my EC’s in the extra space provided, perhaps a piece reminding them i’m self studying everything

That sounds like a good plan :)

Today i’m at the negative end of Stanford syndrome ugh

^ What does that mean? Does it mean you’re thinking that using your SCEA on Stanford would be a waste since you’d be rejected? Nah, don’t think that way It’s not going to do you any good!

Stanford syndrome is the feeling that one day you’ve got a good chance, and the next, that there’s no point. None of my other top choices have EA, so i’m not wasting it, but i’ve put at least 100 hours into my stanford app alone.

You will not believe how accurately this describes me. XD

^^You invented a PHONE.
It’s not humanly possible to have a resume that’s much better. Same for you Fledgling. Aren’t you a fantastic linguist? And don’t both of you have great SAT scores?

It’s us normal people who should be worried. :)

Ahhhh I just realized that I sent in a resume attached to the Common App! I had my extracurriculars listed on the CA, but I really needed the attached resume to explain them… I didn’t realize Stanford asks for no resume… am I screwed? In my defense, I’m sending one CA to all of my schools and wasn’t going to change it just for Stanford?

^Agreed :)

This thread makes me laugh haha. We’re such… noobs! I really hope they like my invention, lets hope they do.

Oh, and since we’re trying to “get to know” each other, here’s a video i worked on. I was one of the producers. I act, i’m the tall white guy.

[YouTube - Exit Strategy Trailer](<a href=“- YouTube”>- YouTube)

What exactly do they mean by no resume? Would I be allowed to attach an extra document in the “additional information” section that details my extracurriculars?

Yes.

And to kaira07, I’m really not that amazing. Multilingualism is getting to be a pretty common phenomenon these days – it’s just that I took it a step further by polishing all my languages to the extent where I’m fluent in them :p

^ Languages are hard. Don’t undersell yourself :P
