Do they email you when they will have them released? Or is it on their admissions website?

I think they will have them on the admissions website. I remember last spring that for RD they had updates on their website for if admissions would be released earlier.

Just submitted my application this morning!!! I’m super excited

My friend who got accepted SCEA last year got hers through email.

I looked through my application again and noticed that the single Korean character I added into my essay got reduced to a single dot.

Thankfully, I mentioned that it is reminiscent of pi so I guess the adcoms will know what the character should resemble…

I hope it doesn’t completely dash my chances due to carelessness…

dapot, this is just my understanding / general impressions from talking to people who got in / didn’t / are involved in the admissions game.
Stanford could build many, many classes with the same SAT / GPA scores from their applicants, so they look for other things to get diversity / give people shots. One person I talked to said the vast majority of people she knew who got in had some connection (legacy). I also get the impression that first-gen people are highly sought.
I know this would leave me at a disadvantage (both parents with grad degrees), but I’ve had plenty of advantages in my life.
Obviously, this is just my opinion.

this is all so exciting/terrifying, guys! i keep trying to remind myself to keep it all in perspective-- stanford is my dream school, but i can lead a happy, successful life no matter what university i attend, blah blah blah. i’m going into this somewhat expecting to be rejected (5-6% acceptance rate, after all), but… i really, really hope i get in!!!
the one thing that’s freaking me out, though, is that i ordered score reports for stanford from college board a couple weeks ago, and it STILL says the order is pending. how long does it take? what if the order doesn’t complete in time?!?

Mine are still pending, and I sent them on October 13. Not too worried though.

I just sent in my SAT score report. Do you think they will get it in time for EA?

Livingfail,

They should… If they say applicants can take the test in october, I don’t see why not.

Ahhhhh… The wait is agonizing. I sent my app in October 12, and have not stopped thinking about it since!

Don’t say that! I submitted mine tonight and I hoped I would be able to forget Stanford until Dec 15… Ugh I hate waiting.

Sent from my PC36100 using CC App

Does Stanford send you an Axxes username and password once they receive all components of your applications?
They’re just waiting on one letter of recommendation to reach them via snail mail :)

I haven’t submitted my app yet - how do we know if they’ve gotten all the letters of rec and such?

You probably won’t find out until you submit your application and get your AXESS username and password. That’s the only way to check the other parts of your application besides the supplement and common app.

@Calgirl…wow my son thought he’d be unique if he double majors in IR and Chemical engineering. He’ll be interested to know someone else out there is as unique as he is =)

@ninmage621…my son applied with the arts supplement too! Though it was hard to have everything ready two weeks early, he’s sure glad to have it completed and behind him. He too had an instrumental music supplement.

@ smilldeb: Actually, I could technically do anything. My ideal major would be a combination of engineering, business/management, linguistics, politics, and international relations. I don’t think I’d be able to stomach chemical or mechanical engineering, though, since I really can’t stand chemistry. :P

P.S. About the “unique” thing… when it comes to top schools like Stanford, the levels of achievement are so astoundingly high among applicants that no matter how unique a student may think he/she is, there’s a high chance somebody out there is exactly like them (or at least extremely similar). Speaking of which, I remember that I saw another user’s stats a couple of months ago in the chances forum. He could have been my male clone - that was how similar we were. It was both cool and creepy at the same time.

I plan to apply to Stanford RD and my SAT score is 2210(first sitting) 770M 760CR 680W. I am an international student from India and I want to know whether I should take the SAT again? Or is 2210 good enough for a shot at Stanford? I think a lot of students from India and China get better scores so does that make me noncompetitive? Please help

A 2210 is good, but are you applying for financial aid? Because that will kill you.
