Official Stanford SCEA 2017 Applicants' Discussion Thread

No, it isn’t. While CA students made up the majority, there were also quite a few OOS students, including students from top boarding schools, low income/rural areas, and major cities.

zhstkdblackbelt, I submitted exactly 10 prints just to be safe. I was a bit confused by that wording too, but maybe you should email Admissions directly if it still bothers you?

Eagerly awaiting decisions. It’s going to be a long month. Side note to chewey56 - I’m also heavily involved in my state association!

Eagerly awaiting decisions. It’s going to be a long month. Side note to chewey56 - I am also heavily involved in my state association! So cool!

pittfan04, I agree. Heck, I had a dream LAST NIGHT that it was decision day. Geez, if every day until then is like this, it’s going to be a very, very, very long month.

I also just had my interview last night. It went pretty well – very low key, which was nice.

Longest month of my life. Actually, I’ll just be relieved when tomorrow is over and I’ve finally hit submit on my Intel STS project. It will be such a weight off my back! Then I can go right back to waiting. Agh.

Congrats! Glad it went well.

Best of luck to everyone! Thiiisss suuuccckkkss

Hi everyone, my son sends me here to check things out. He applied for REA to Stanford and is anxiously waiting while preparing applications for other colleges.

So, a moment of horror occurred for me last night. I was reading through my whole college application just for fun when I realized that, on the common app, I reported my SAT II scores in the academics section but neglected to report my AP Scores, which is especially problematic since I put AP Scholar on the Awards section. I only have 3 AP’s that I’ve taken (all that my school has offered :/), but still, I feel really uncomfortable about not reporting them.

So, last night, I emailed Stanford with my scores/app ID, briefly explained my situation, and had the official AP scores sent to Stanford. Did I do the right thing, and am I in trouble now?

I’m sorry to hear that Adodie! I would also fax them a letter explaining the situation, with a copy of your official AP score report(s). Include name, DOB, common app ID, and school name, and you can send it to 650-723-6050.

Hope it works out okay!

Anyone know when decisions come out?

@nygiants, as far as we can tell somewhere between Dec. 7th and the 15th. They say 15th at the latest, but they almost always do it earlier. Because the 15th is a Saturday, they might do it the closest Friday, ie the 14th. However, they might do it the Friday before that, which would be the 7th. In last years they have done it on the 9th, so that’s also possible. However, last year I think they did it on Tuesday the 12th! So basically, like I said, pretty much anywhere from the 7th to the 15th. I also heard it will be after 3:30 PM on whatever day they choose.

(Of course, this is all talking about the decision email; a physical acceptance letter will be sent on the 15th to those who got in. If rejected, there is no physical letter.)

So excited/tired of waiting!!!

Thanks for the detailed reply! I know, so am I. And I’m already so sick of all this even though I have like 340905748 college apps left that I haven’t even started -____-

Thanks, 20tigger17! Do you know if it’s 3:30PM Pacific time?

@PittFan04, How does your state association work? We hold events throughout the year, such as weeklong summer workshops, weekend retreats, two state conferences and a leadership day at the local amusement park. We have a state board with 6 kids and 5 adults, and its extremely awesome to be involved in. I wouldn’t be the same without it

@salzburg yes, it is!

@chewey56 mine is very similar! We have 7 student reps and 7 adult reps plus specialized positions. We host an annual leadership conference, summer workshops, and a student summit in addition to regional conferences. Getting involved was definitely one of the best decisions of my life. I’m glad that you feel the same!

This is worrying me quite a bit, as neither of my teachers have sent in their letter of recs. Would you guys happen to know if I am REQUIRED to fax it at this point in time? Or is electronic submission via the Common App still acceptable?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

You should probably fax it in asappp, the submission date has long passed…

Yeah i’d say fax it in

And 1 more month!

Ya fax it…
