@shyamalee thank you for cheering me up on another note, to those applying to 2+ Drexel programs, did you submit the same Drexel supplement for both of them?

I realize that this is a BS/MD thread but is anyone also applying to any Ivies?

@Deriveme Hey yes! I am applying to Harvard with my shabby stats. I know I won’t get accepted, but I guess it’s worth a shot.

I totally get it! Honestly you never know what Harvard is looking for–you could fill that particular niche in their freshman class so it’s always worth it to try!

@Deriveme Aww thank you! What colleges what colleges have you already applied to?

Most are BS/MD programs. I try to stay away from the ones that have a heavy instate bias though. As for regular undergrad, I’m applying RD to Harvard, Princeton, MIT, and Yale and I have plenty of safeties lined up. What about you?

@Deriveme I have applied to mostly BS/MD programs as well: UMKC, RPI, BU, NEOMed, Howard University, and GWU. I have also applied to the following in-state schools: FSU, UF, and USF (rejected). I am planning to apply to Harvard, maybe Cornell, and I’m probably going to apply to NYU as well. I don’t think I will be applying to more than 15 schools because I really don’t wanna waste my money haha. If I don’t get accepted into any of the BS/MD programs, I’ll probably finish up my BA in-state in the next 2 years, take the MCAT, and head to NYU’s medical school or an accredited Caribbean school. Or maybe I’ll head back to India and get my MBBS and take the USMLEs. Lots of options here haha

@Deriveme I’m applying to three of the Drexel programs, and yeah I used the same supplement for all of them!

also, I’m applying to Brown’s 8 year PLME and possibly Harvard not sure yet

@danceprincess124 did you also apply to Miami HPME? Just wondering because I’m trying to figure out why I was rejected pre-interview.

@shyamalee judging by the SCEA results thread for Harvard this year, it seems like most people were deferred. Not sure if this is typical for Harvard scea though.

@shyamalee same plan here w/ caribbean and india as backups! what are your stats?

@mangoes9 I’ll message them to you :)

@Deriveme We’re most of the deferred applicants regular or early decision?

@Deriveme I submitted the same Drexel supplement to 4, its the same supplement so it shouldnt matter

Hey guys what’s the difference in the time it takes to graduate from an an accelerated med. program like the the ones this thread is dedicated to vs. the conventional route? A lot of websites say that BS/MD programs are 6-7 years vs. 8 years through the conventional route but some claim that it could be anywhere from 10-12 years from the time you graduate high school.

@Deriveme no sorry i didn’t apply to Miami! have you gotten any other interviews/med school supplements yet?

@shyamalee they were all SCEA applicants.

@danceprincess124 I’m supposed to get an interview from penn state and so far I’ve gotten the supplement for some Drexel programs. According to last years thread we should be hearing back from RPI soon.

@shyamalee depending on the program, it would be 6, 7, or 8 years through guaranteed programs. if you were to go the regular track, it’s 4 years undergrad and 4 years medical school but then you would have to do internships and residencies, so maybe the 10-12 years they were talking about included all this stuff- as in 10-12 years until you can actually start practicing medicine? just a guess

when should we hear back from drexel??

Received invitation for interview from Miami today @ 5pm ET.
