@Deriveme that’s good!! so far, i’ve gotten supplements from union and villanova and an interview for NJIT. i haven’t even heard anything from penn state yet!

@danceprincess124 I recently got a letter from NJIT saying that the accelerated decisions would be out within 2 to 4 weeks. wondering if you got the same?

@swagtothemax yep i got that letter! did you get accepted to the honors college?

@ddrew97 if you wouldn’t mind sharing, what are your stats? Congrats on the interview too.

@danceprincess124 yep, did you apply to any other programs with NJMS?

@upstream
In State: 156/ 37/6
OOS: 207/27/9

Is it # of applicants/# accepted/# matriculated? or what?
thanks!

yeah, i applied to TCNJ and rutgers too hbu?

@faymer, almost right- applicants/interviewed/matriculated. Just remember that accepted numbers are higher than enrolled numbers since the yield is not 100 percent.

@Deriveme, your stat with research experience look good for RPI! For 2012-13 cycle, SAT total was 2258 with breakdown- 744 CR/ 749 M/ 765 W.

@dildil I have received this question before and my answer is: there isn’t one. Mine, personally, was 2 pages exactly, but as long as the resume captures what your son participated in high school it should be good. With that being said I would recommend thoroughly explaining each component of the resume. For example, I had a biotechnology internship with a local company. Instead of just listing it, I wrote a little summary explaining the work I did. The whole point of the resume is to let the medical admissions board (part of UAB Medical School, they are the ones that decide on who gets in) that your son is interested and passionate about the medical field and has done activities in high school to prove it. Good luck to your son in the process!! If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask me!

@Deriveme, I wouldn’t worry about Miami HPME… this program has a very high attrition rate. Only 60 percent of students in the program eventually matriculated into the medical school according to its website…

received invitation to interview for Miami HPME today as well. @holmesOG @ddrew97 - are you able to access the RSVP portal? it seems to be broken or something for me

@in2llect, same it locked me out after a few tries

@TheShmiShmi , thank you so much for your detailed answer.

@upstream thanks!
Does anyone know when psu/Jefferson sends out invites? If they do, is there 1 for UG too or just at the med school?

@faymer earlier this week I got a notification on my penn state app portal saying that my app was being forwarded to Jefferson for review - I heard Jefferson officially sends out interview invitations in early January…

has anyone else gotten notifications from penn state?

@holmesOG @ddrew97 @in2llect: Thanks for the update. Good luck to you all. My son also recd Miami HPME interview. He also mentioned the interview scheduling site is broken.

Any one knows on “How many are invited to this interview for the 20-25 seats?”.

On Penn state portal can you tell me the contents of the application Status…Mine is as follows " We will update you by late January about the status of your application to the Accelerated Premedical-Medical Program offered in cooperation with Jefferson Medical College. If you are not selected for this specific program within the Penn State Eberly College of Science, we will certainly consider you for general admission to the Eberly College of Science."

do you have the same?

@parentofs, for Miami HPME,

In state- 84/27/9
oos- 143/59/5

@upstream thank you for the reassuring words about RPI. I suppose that it didnt help that I accidentally mailed the wrong essay to Miami HPME and had to call them and correct the mistake.
