***Official Thread for 2015 BSMD applicants***

I got an email for the Miami HPME interview too; does anyone know one’s chances of getting in once they get to the interview stage?

@mdiqbal71 My PSU status still says “We are reviewing your credentials for the Accelerated Premedical-Medical program. A decision will be available here as soon as one is made.” When did you submit your application?

this is what my penn state status reads:
We will be notifying Jefferson Medical College of your candidacy, and they will be in contact with you regarding an interview at Jefferson. If you are not selected for this specific program within the Eberly College of Science, you will be considered for general admission to the Eberly College of Science instead.
anyone else have the same?

@ducktective if it helps, I submitted my Penn State application on the 29th and my portal now reads that I should be hearing from the medical college soon.

@upstream‌ I’m a little confused; so only 5 oos and 9 in state get into the programs at the very end? Isn’t it around 20?

^^ that’s exactly what mine says^^

@swagtothemax‌ any idea of how many people are accepted from the interview phase?

Actually the Penn website says 25 students enter the program each year! Here’s hoping to their only interviewing 30 or so kids!

Perhaps @upstream‌ knows the number of interviews?

@Tazmaz314, ok guys… this is the 3rd time posting this: THE ACCEPTED NUMBER IS HIGHER THAN MATRICULATED NUMBER SINCE THE YIELD IS LESS THAN 100%. Last year cycle, one the poster informed us that he turned down Miami HPME to attend RPI.

Sorry @upstream‌ Yeah I just saw your previous comments. Thanks for the info

Hmm… okay, thanks for the info. Not really sure what to think of mine, maybe they haven’t gotten around to it yet?

“We are reviewing your credentials for the Accelerated Premedical-Medical program. A decision will be available here as soon as one is made.”
That’s what mine says :frowning:
@upstream would you happen to know psu/Jefferson’s ratio? And also TCNJ/njms or Stevens/njms?
Thanks!

@faymer the TCNJ/NJMS ratio is 400/80/20
applied/interview at NJMS/matriculated. this is off the TCNJ webiste

anyone who applied to texas bsmd programs pm me! curious to know if anyone has applied to the ones down here.

@Deriveme, I have the same question for Drexel app. Can they be the same for all the programs ?

@Dildil‌ thinking about it some more, I don’t understand how they could be different anyway because the essay asks about how why you want to attend Drexel medical school, not the undergraduate college. I’m going to submit the same one. Which Drexel programs are you applying to?

Its my son. He applied to Drexel/Drexel, Rosemont/Drexel [ already got the supplement request ] and Lehigh/Drexel.

Yes, most likely he will be submitting the same app. @Deriveme , would you mind messaging me your stats ?

@Dildil‌ done. It would be great to meet your son if we happen to have interviews together some time!

Thank you upstream. If HPME OOS is 143/59/5 then 54 of them will spend 3 days and $1000 for nothing. Colleges should skype to filter further instead of asking all to come to college. If we attend 5 interviews, right there we lost 15 days and $5000. Losing 15 days in high school will be a disaster unless we get atleast one BS/MD SEAT. Thx. Love to hear opinions.
