***Official Thread for 2016 BSMD applicants***

@crystalfire798 Did they really? they do not have their application up and their website simply states that more info will be released. Do you have the link to place you read that they cancelled their program? Not that I don’t trust you, but I need to confirm it for my parents.

@734275 I live in Michigan so Wayne state was one of my premier choices to go to for BS/MD. However, because their medical school is now on probation they cancelled the program. My parents called multiple times and even spoke to the assistant dean of the medical school and all they said is that the program was cancelled for multiple reasons, one including probation and another because of the poor performance by admitted students.

Can you guys tell me if I am aight for some of these bsmd programs ???

I thought NEOMED is changing to 7 yr from 2017. Students who are applying this fall still get into 6 Yr if they are selected.

Hey guys. I’m applying to Boston University’s early assurance program, but I’m not 100% sure about the application details. The information I found on their website seems a bit vague. Do we just send the teacher evaluation forms for November 15th and submit the common application online for the same date? Also, if we apply to this program, are we still considered for the school we marked on our common application? Thanks.

Reach are field that are popular like ortho plastic or derm but the focus is to first get into med school

Again your credential seem strong enough

The key point is the interview where one needs to be a person not a machine and realize we are here to be a doctor and help people

To dynamite samurai

Sat score is low edge while act acceptable
I think some places accept act in leu of sat and this may be better
One should highlight your better score
My daughter did this with bad sat but act hit 33-34 like u
She got in

To dhs2016
It does not help ur application to visit

The process is a review of applications then people are invited for interview and then the decision is made after interview looking at people comments by admission committee

To 734725

No clue about RPI but it seems like another mid range accelerates program
You should be good

Oh yeah I took the AP for bio in sophomore year just adding that for context in regards to my score

Anyone know that Boston looks for specifically? Research, volunteer etc? That’s my dream program!

Also, does anyone know if University of Colorado Denver bs/md forces people to stay in colorado to practice? it says that it wants to train primary care physicians for colorado, but is there any formal agreement one must make to stay there after med school?

@adramelech, I think your stats and activities are pretty good, including your standardized test scores. Might be harder in terms of the more competitive ones because of lack of research and not as much healthcare shadowing/volunteering although you have other school ECs with sustained involvement which would explain that.

In terms of your home state, you forgot the medical schools of UTHSC-Houston (http://www.uh.edu/news-events/stories/2013/march/031413MDprograms.php), UTMB (EMSAP: http://www.utmb.edu/somenrichprograms/), and Texas Tech (https://www.ttuhsc.edu/som/admissions/umsi.aspx) all of whom over Bachelor/MD programs. Have you thought about applying to Northwestern’s HPME or Miami-Miller’s HPME? I personally think you should expand the number of BS/MD programs you’re willing to apply to esp. with your stellar ACT score.

Hi Guys! So I’m looking to apply to BS/MDs and I’m completely alone in the process because I have no older siblings in the process and my parents have absolutely no idea.

Thanks Everyone!

To alexzhang
With act 34 and ap score five in multiple area
You are highly competitive but key question will be at interview…
I have seen many competitive people with no perspective of what being md means or had inability to express themselves
