Official thread october sat 2013 test

@jlee unshakable basically means firm in one’s beliefs…
As if one’s own ideas can’t be shaked

What was the answer to the math problem with a scatter plot?

anyone get a passage about procrastination? it was the 2nd section for me. it was a long comparison passage

@BCAbusinesskid
I don’t mean the writing question with 14 questions. i meant the one with 35 questions
@houstonrep
i put domestic too

For the math one about sodas and sandwiches, it was 1/2, not 7/12. Question asks for at least so and so amount of sandwiches, and over so and so amount of sodas. One of the sodas was on the boundary line, so it doesn’t count

JLee,
Is not punctilious sticking to convention and proper behavior? hence, stubborn in its own way?
I’m assuming you put unshakable, but it doesn’t imply she would never give up her beliefs despite opposition. It simply implied that she was a stickler for behavior. I think you over thought it a bit

homely i believe @houstonrep

For the “homely” question I put comfortable.

@juniorhigh yeah inhospitable was right and the hyperbolic nature of the use of “menacing” suggests that BUT the fact that “sudden drop in temperature” followed the “menacing clouds” was a detriment to the sentence’s exaggeration and it could be accordingly argued that inhospitable wasn’t in-line with the second adjective phrase. Inhospitable was a poor choice to put on the test, on the CBs behalf. Clouds can roll in and temperature can drop but that doesn’t mean that if you’re outside you won’t be able to survive. Terrible question

did anyone put active promotion or something like that? I was unsure about A or B, but i can’t remember the question .It was in the passage about “West”…

thnx xCossack
Andrew scatterplot was 7/12

@gloria, yeah I’m not sure which one it was but I know i had like no D’s or E’s

oh and for the birds question,
the answer was 15
was that choice A or B
(that was #12)

13 was a question with lines.

was the answer 70 degrees
it gave x and asked to find y or something

Homely is simple and math question is 7/12 (i checked 3 times the wording also)

pretty sure the answer to the homely one was “simple”

What did you guys put for sec. 10 writing q #12 i believe, about the music being too loud, even when he was high up on the building?

@BCAbusinesskid
yeah ahha i got l ike so many Cs
I was so paranoid
I wanted to change some answers but it didn’t make any sense… so I left it

Even heard

@xCossack you answered balmy. It doesn’t work, granted none of the choices were stellar…inhospitable, I mean really? What BS. It doesn’t work for the second half of the description and truly is illogical.

Did you guys get 180-(x+y) for a question involving a circle?
