Oh, and posts like the one you made @asuttt, are how acceptances get rescinded. You just admitted to lying in your essay (because you could apparently justify it to get in) and given you’re an out of state transfer, you would be very easy to identify.
I actually have a bit of sympathy. That honesty essay was problematic in many ways - good in some ways, not so good in others. Not everyone has an answer when it only encompassed, for most, just one year of college (the event had to be during college). Unless Haas is clueless, they had to some foresight that lying or embellishing would likely occur (ironically). I bet embellishing happened a lot. That essay is a huge part of the application and how much is a person willing to risk? You’re already accepted, so easy to dismiss the extreme freak out based on that prompt. I think Haas should have thought it out better.
Although I do agree, keeping it to yourself is best.
For anyone who was accepted does anyone know if 1 W will affect my chances? I had to take one W in a math course 1 week after the last day to drop without notation that takes place 4 days a week after the drop date in order to help make rent because my mother lost her job. I had no way to continue to attend the class with the available shifts at work. We are a very low income family. I do have a 4.0 gpa right now. I’m just scared admissions will look at the W negatively. Someone please help! I am taking the math course next semester, but I just feel very bad about the W.
Currently this is my first semester in a CCC… What classes do you have to take minus the pre req and breadth? I was reading some of you did the IGETC. Also any tips?
