Well, I don’t know whats going on bc what u r saying actually contradicts the other one. who told us that the decision will be today at 4 til monday. @ndhi786
lol why cant the davis office ppl get their thoughts in order and tell us the same thing and make it less confusing
@lilnando hey there, any update?? u just messing with our poor tortured souls?
Did they release today???
So are they out??? I’m so CONFUSED D; i hate this!!
i think maybe just a few came out like how they’ve been trickling out, but a big wave will probably come out next week bc last year, the first wave came out on may 16
@hkiiim I just called them again for like the 5th time and every person who answers has a different response. I kinda wish they would all just find one answer to give everyone bc it’s kinda misleading
Aren’t they closed now?
@DavisPls I meant the last time I called them, which was about 6 hours before I posted the comment
@ndhi786 And also thank U so much that you share the infos, its really helpful!
Hang in there everyone, you will find out soon. Admissions is charged with putting together the freshman class for 2018, and that’s what they’re hard at work doing now. Like a mosaic or a quilt, they fit their waitlisted students into the spots open because admitted students did not SIR to UC Davis. You are all qualified to attend UC Davis. However, they have multiple factors to consider to make a well rounded freshman class. They accept transfer students who have until June 1st to SIR. There are moving parts to the admissions process that will get resolved by the end of June. You are part of the puzzle and whether your piece fits is yet to be determined. The middle of May seems to be the time when waitlist offers start to come out. As students accept or decline, they move through the waitlist group to finalize the freshman class. It’s not smoke and mirrors. It is frustrating.
Many of you have been accepted to good schools, including other UCs, and out of state schools, who want you to attend. Are you starting to think about buying the t-shirt to the school you SIR’d to yet? This year was brutal for UC admissions. as told by several college counselors, as more students are applying to UC. You may opt to go to another 4 year college, or to a community college. Be proud of what you have accomplished. If you don’t get off of the UC Davis waitlist, there is the option to apply to transfer as a junior (very limited ability to transfer as a sophomore) or to apply to graduate school down the road. It’s difficult to think that your hard work in high school might not yield the result you want right now, and yet you all will go to college somewhere. Bloom where you are planted!
UCD offers TAG(guaranteed admission) for transfers. You need to follow the requirements and keep GPA3.2 and above for most majors. Space is not limited, it is guaranteed.
My oldest son is taking that path. He had GPA3.9(weighed) in high school, and has GPA3.9 at CC. He will finish all of the requirements by the end of next fall, he is planning to “ TAG” UCD.
GPA range for transfers is 3.29-3.78 and over all admission rate is 62 percent.
My son has a good chance even without “TAG”.

This is the link for the stats(Ranges represent
the middle 50 percent of admitted students).
lol when ur outside the range and still didnt get in
@hoppy1 I think they just meant that so many people who had higher stats than the ones in the ranges they provided did not get admitted… so their ranges are basically bs
Okay. As everyone knows it highly depends on a major.
The ranges they put out were for all the majors.
Also the stats were last years’.
I am sure it was a lot more competitive this year than last year.
If that is BS or not, that was the stats.
If you do not like the decision they made, you can always appeal
using the data also.
@hoppy1 im not complaining or anything lol. and that comment was nothing against you, it was more against the fact that colleges like Davis state that the admissions process is “fair”—when it’s clearly not. i know it varies by major, but that doesn’t change the fact that multiple highly qualified applicants were waitlisted.
I understand a lot of people are frustrated. So is my son
(He got waitlisted by three UCs including UCD).
My other son was not even in the range last year, so he took the
rejection without too much problem, but UCD was still one of his
top choices.
He started all over again at CC and things have been working out
great.
There is always a way.
As long as the UC system continues to allow students to apply to every UC, many will. And this problem will just get worse and worse.
They need to put a cap on the number to which each student can apply.
