Yo I called the admissions office. The first girl on the phone didn’t really know much so I asked to talk to her supervisor and she said that they have “not needed to take anyone off the waitlist.” and that we should look into our other options, though they will continue until the end of the month. She seemed to be saying that there’s no hope. If you guys want to get more detail, I recommend you call yourself. I’m steaming mad, they keep telling us different things and keeping the information from us that they’re not going to give any of us admission?? This is bs.
OK so I spoke to an admissions officer, she said there was still space left but she wasn’t sure of/couldn’t reveal how much. She said they’ll keep releasing every week and to look out for your email? it was super vague. So weird how we’re getting conflicting answers from people who are supposed to know about this
Why can’t they just stick with one story? Surely it couldn’t be that hard to write a scripted response to address the waitlist in case anyone calls to ask about it.
I just called Admissions and the person I spoke too said that nothing has been sent out yet. They also said that they will be sending out waitlist decisions by June 1st. When pressed, they did confirm that no one has been taken off the waitlist.
So what I’m getting from all of these phone calls is there may or may not be spots that they may or may not fill, and they may or may not have already filled some.

When I called, they said that no one was taken off YET. It sounds like they have not made ANY decisions regarding the waitlist. We are keeping our fingers crossed for UCD but know that it’s probably not meant to be.
The person I spoke to today said that they haven’t released any decisions yet but they will release them around the end of May. They’re trying to finish them all up by May 31 but decisions might be extend until June. They won’t give me any numbers. Once again, i feel like nothing that they say is helping and all we can do is wait.
The deadline to request an official transcript at my child’s school is May 31. Fingers crossed it’s before that.

I don’t even know what to think anymore if we will or will not get in. All I know is that we should keep our heads held up since they(admission committee) aren’t helping us at all.

I wish if that was the case and they are either not taking anyone off or barely anyone at all, they would at least send out rejections to people that for sure don’t have a chance because it’s taking so long to be notified.
I also called today and they said that they haven’t had to take anyone off yet. They’ll know for sure by June 1 so we’re all probabaly not going to get any notification until/ after then
I just called and they said that they already started releasing waitlist admissions and should stop releasing by June 1st. They also said that those who haven’t been notified should explore other options.
Why is this all so conflicting??? Frankly it’s frustrating and I’d rather that they stick to one thing than giving out vague answers.
Honestly though! Half the people who answer don’t know anything. The rest either say that they will be releasing the first wave or that they have already released it. None of this makes any sense at all. For the most part though it does seem like they don’t have many spots to offer the waitlisted students.
So I had a meeting with my EAOP UC Davis Program. I told them my situation and i found some key information. One of the EAOP directors/coordinators works with the admission director closely and honestly I think just go ahead and focus on your backup school. Because from what she said, the admission office hasn’t even started working on the waitlist yet. It’s been almost 1 month and they haven’t even started. And it’ll take a long while until we’re notified. This is just what I heard from her words in person. So you can choose to believe me or not. I hope you all the best because I’m just focusing on my backup school now. If UC Davis does accept me I will go. However I need to focus on my backup school.

@UJazzy is it because they know there aren’t many spots available or are they just being lazy at this point?
If they’ve waited this long to deal with the wailist they probably don’t need anyone except a handful to replace SIRs they lost. In other words, students who SIRed to Davis but then got into their first choice school (Berkeley, etc.) and withdrew from Davis.
I know we all should not be banking on Davis as a waitlist opportunity, but I spoke to them today and yesterday. Although they didn’t give me a lot of information, they both said that they have not sent out any decisions yet. I asked if this was a good or bad sign and they said neither. I think at this point, we just need to wait. They said it would come out by June 1, so that’s only a couple weeks away!

After May 1 - June 30th seems to be the time frame you’re working with. Enjoy the rest of your senior year, graduation, start of summer, and by then you will have your answers. Harsh as it sounds, right now, the answer is no, and unless it changes, you’re going to be excited to attend your other school.
