*** official uc davis 2022 waitlist**

rejected :frowning:

Did you guys get an email or just check the portal?

@tiedyebossman first i checked the portal n i got the email around 30 mins after the first post on page 26 talking abt being rejected

My sweet son-rejected. Sports, grades, music, test scores - you name it - he had it all. Bye, bye California. He’s going out of state. Best of luck to everyone. I really hope there are a few spots for some of you. Would love to see an acceptance on this board after all this.

@momofNASAnerd Can I ask what State college your daughter going?

@cutiepie679 Your stats are so impressive! Where will you be attending college? I’m sorry Davis didn’t work out.

@momofNASAnerd Curious, how can UC’s tell if a kid is introverted or extroverted? My kid is probably in the middle.

@socalemma thank you so much!! and i SIRed to UCSB but i’m waitlisted at pomona so i’m waiting to see if that’ll pull through!

Both great schools, wishing you good luck!!

Rejected, seriously bummed…

@CaliKenMom
So is my son. He got rejected by UCD today, but fortunately got off the waitlist at Cal Poly SLO
early May.

He is very lucky.

Did anyone get accepted today?

Rejected. They played us for three months and this is the end result. So disappointed with UCs.

This has been a horrible year!

@socalemma I would say extroverts are more involved and have an easier time talking about themselves. My daughter finds it very difficult to talk herself up, however she had several teachers read her essays who said they were good.

She did Varsity swim for 3 years, swim club for 5 years, band AND jazz band all through middle and high school, president of French club, works as a lifeguard and swim instructor…but lacking in community service and volunteering because of extreme social anxiety. Go figure!!
She’s also in top ten in her class and will be featured in a local paper for that achievement.
The #3 student in their class of 440 was also rejected from the waitlist today, btw.

@hoppy1 both our kids are very fortunate. Is your son going to SLO? The UC’s were very tough this year.

@socalemma my older daughter was the opposite. No sports, band but not jazz band, was also president of French club. Her grades and scores weren’t quite as good, but she volunteered a bunch and also started 2 clubs of her own on campus, and was involved in drama club. All the teachers knew her, very extroverted, was nominated for Girls State. She got into Davis, Berkeley and UCSD.

@CaliKenMom
Yes, my son is going to SLO. SLO said they would cut back admission numbers by 500(normally 5,000, but their target this year was 4,500 as they overenrolled by 850 last year).

I am sure SLO was very careful this year…

Just got rejected too. Their acceptance rate this year was close to 7% so it makes sense that we’re all getting rejected.

My son was denied just now by email notice, 1460 SAT, UC GPA 4.3, Mechanical engineering major, instate, Bay area native. He was admitted early action to Univ of Illinois Urbana direct into mech e, CU Boulder pre-engineering and UW direct college of engineering where he is committed. Good luck to those still hanging on, it’s been a tough application process for both parents and seniors.

Rejected as well :frowning: took it pretty well. My First reaction when I was waitlisted was breaking down to tears. Now I’m just sad but ready to move forward.
