so sorry to go back to this… but did anyone else not get an email about missing finaid documents even though they were missing?

^ i didn’t get an email:( i’m so sad… i think i’m getting rejected it really sucks -_- dsudhfishfhsifdh

rrcjmcandless, we established that the finaid emails had nothing to do with acceptance. Nothing whatsoever. For the love of god, do not psych yourself up by reading too much into it.

@ Michella: Im glad it cheered you up =) We are all in the same creaky little boat. Who knows, we might all be classmates next year. It’s important to keep on keeping on.

This is weird, for you guys’ sakes, I hope that it has nothing to do with acceptance (which it almost 100% completely and certainly is not), but I did get an email, so there’s that tiny part of me that wants to hope. Like I said earlier though, I messed up my uncommon essay quite a bit, so I probably did not get accepted, but I DID get the email, which would indicate that the email does not mean an acceptance. So take heart from that, my friend.

I dont mean to pry, but did the missing documents happen to be tax returns?

Mine were. I never got the email though. I got three seperate phone calls from the University until someone picked up

I havent gotten any calls or emails regarding that…im starting to worry now

As long as everyone is freaking out about FA, I have another question. I saw where someone else said that he got a new tab that now shows the FAFSA. I looked on my son’s account and it does not have the new FAFSA tab. Do any of yours?

FAFSA? Isn’t that not even out yet?

Yes. But the person said that in the FA part where it has tax forms and Profile, it now listed FAFSA with it missing. I know you can’t do the FAFSA until Jan. 1, but they can list it as a needed document until it is submitted.

I dont have a FAFSA tab

neither do i… but then again i havent submitted anything yet :P

What exactly do you mean by “tab?”

I got an email about missing materials but it’s the missing noncustodial profile. However the email was from collegeboard not uchicago so I don’t think it has to do with anything.

I’m still missing the tax returns because my dad has still not faxed them. Arghh

“I looked at my uchicago admissions account a few minutes ago, and I found a new tab for FAFSA that wasn’t there before. Would it be ok for me to turn in my FAFSA stuff now, even though I haven’t been told of my admissions decision yet? From what I understand, the FAFSA report is sent to schools in order to compare the accepted students’ aid requirements. Does this mean that I’ve already been accepted? or that they expect me to fill out the FAFSA form regardless of whether or not I was deferred or not?”

This is what it says on my sons account:

Status Details Date
Received Parent’s 2011 Federal Income Tax Return 12/05/2012
Received Profile 11/12/2012

The person made it sound that their’s now includes not only tax forms and profile but also the FAFSA with it missing.
I don’t mean to make a big deal, it just made me nervous.

Michella - yes that is what I read.

What do they mean by “tab?” I’m still confused.
