i know this has been addressed already, but on my UChicago account, it had the whole “WHERE’S YOUR FAFSA” box and indicated that it was missing. on my application, however, i indicated that i would not be applying for financial aid. the box is currently not there. so, any suppositions as to what this might be? just a processing error type of deal? yes, i’m vaguely neurotic, but that’s a good 60% of this process, anyway!

But really, why does my UChicago account say N/A [my last name]. Does your guy’s include your first name ? Mine used to, then all of a sudden it changed to N/A

mine includes my first name… i’m guessing they’re just logging all of the information in (including financial aid stuff) and it’s getting a little glitchy.

I got into my ED school but didn’t have a chance to send an email notifying them of withdrawal until Saturday. I’m not going to get an angry email am I?

Does anyone know in what time zone “late afternoon” refers to? I’m assuming central time for now. That means I’ll have to wait until after swim practice to check…

I’m so nervous, to the point I can’t bear it anymore. I just know my essays are going to be the driving factor to my deferred or rejected status (along with not being particularly spectacular). I don’t know how I’ll handle a rejection, much less a deferral… Yeah, I’ve been having major mood swings recently :p

Glenc0c0, I’m not really sure about what your post means in the second paragraph, but I’m urging people to pull their UChicago app now if they’ve been accepted ED already because it is the UChicago policy. You’re right, the EA pool is pretty final right now but pulling your apps could still affect financial aid and the RD pool.

Sunshinerocks: Drat. Alrighty - I sorta wish I could have checked it during school, but so it goes.

Where, when, and how are you guys going to check your apps? I’m definitely checking mine alone, in the living room while watching South Park, and immediately after swim practice at around 6pm.

Everyone handles it a little differently but, at least for me, it wasn’t that bad. I found out I got rejected from my top choice and felt bummed for a day but then I quickly forgot about it and stopped going onto that school’s forum on CC. I hope Chicago is an acceptance for me…it would be a turn around from my rejection haha.

You are assuming this poster applied for financial aid. If they did not apply for FA, then they are bound to attend and must withdraw all other apps. But I agree that it wouldn’t make any difference in the EA decisions coming out on Tuesday, I expect it is too late for a few ED withdrawals to affect that pool.

I really don’t care for people not pulling out their EA apps. But it is kinda unethical for those with a nefarious motive to wait for their app for Chicago to come in before squirming out of an ED to a school they may consider a lesser. (I AM NOT IMPLYING ANYONE HERE IS DOING THIS.) This is just a speculation as to why people and some schools are strict about the guidelines of ED and EA…it’s all about fairness.
