Official Uchicago Ea Decision Thread

You guys need to stop being so pessimistic.

Easy for the accepted one. I am pessimistic by nature. I am sitting here listening to some blues feeling pretty low. I think I might as well send in my letter of intent to another school.

nspeds, i had no idea you applied to chicago! how come you want to leave georgetown? didn't you just transfer in? but anyways, congrats everyone!

No i dont think it means we were necessarily rejected, as some students have called in have been notified of being on the waitlist. I dont want to sound overly optimistic, but I am sure there are a number of applicants that they are still reviewing. That being said, not receiving an email doesn't really help our case.

I wanted to keep it confidential.

Preprofessionalism.

Yes. I am probably not leaving, but I need to think about this.

Hmm - looking good for the waitlist to Chicago thus far -

anyone transfer in after one year w/ mediocare high school grades at a very competitive school (3.7 gpa; poor SATs, plenty of leadership in clubs, community service, ib diploma recipient) ?

still got Haas Danoush.

Yeah, weird that nspeds gave off an impression of hating UChi so I thought.

Nope. My transfer ordeal is officially finished. I have all my decisions, and I am definitely not completing these darn applications again.

Okay...so if my decision hasn't been made yet according to Gerald, what do you all think it means? Accepted/rejected/deferred/waitlisted?

Accepted/rejected/deferred/waitlisted?

[/quote]

I remember reading somewhere that there will be no deferrees this year.

eek...tries not to vomit

What bugs me is that it seems that Gerald didn't reject anyone over the phone.

So what, then, did he tell the rejectees? He says he's being 100% honest, but things just don't add up.

I think Jerry was being honest. Give him a chance.

Edit: Is there not a UChicago rejectee and waitlistee somewhere on this forum? I remember reading about the situations of both.

If there is a rejectee, than I that would give me hope (that sounds horrible, I know... but you know what I mean).

It just sucks, because I'd much rather be rejected than suspect rejection all weekend. It's very painful.

When I look into my future it's scary... Because I see absolutely nothing clearly. Once I step off the ledge of the 2 years at my cc, it seems like there may be nothing below but an infinite fall. As you can tell, I'm going nutso! :-)
