~**Official UCLA 2009 Appeals Thread**~

sent my appeal the 10th, status change 13th

^ wow that was quick! i’m assuming people earlier got a status change quicker because not as many people sent it in. i’m sure everybody sent it last minute during the 15th and after :D

my letter was 2 pages long…single spaced…

Does anyone know if it is legit to log in with ucla id (from status page) to ursa account? Some people on ucsd forum found their appeal acceptance by logging in their account (different from decision site).

I hand turned mine into the Office on the 13th and status change on the 14th–Next Day.

Spiral: I heard that too…that it might be faster…i dunno if its true though…

So cool: Maybe. I sent mine March 31st and it was delivered April 1st. I had my status changed after the 3rd but by the 6th. I didn’t check over the weekend.
Someone discouraged letters longer than 1.5 pages, but I just thought, “Hey, not my fault they didn’t specify a word limit. I’m just providing all the information I didn’t before.”

spiral: You could try.

exactly! they did not mention a minimum or a maximum, so we aren’t breaking any rules :] plus, listing my address, their address, and my closing took up space. so technically they’re reading 1.5 pages single spaced :] i’m gonna cross my fingers my status turns to “under review” by friday or i’ll become nervous.

I heard that it is limited to one page. So if you have more, then the appeal committees stop reading after the first page.

“I heard that it is limited to one page. So if you have more, then the appeal committees stop reading after the first page.”

This board just stresses me out more and more. xD
Maybe I’ll leave until I find out my decision.

EDIT: Though I assumed they put all the information regarding appeals on the “About Appeals” page to avoid thousands of calls asking about specifics on appeals.

@Brayz:I heard that it is limited to one page. So if you have more, then the appeal committees stop reading after the first page.

I heard that Minnie sleeps in her own room at Disneyland not too far from UCLA campus.

"I heard that it is limited to one page. So if you have more, then the appeal committees stop reading after the first page. "

i never heard of that -___- i hope not too. besides, they never specified a word limit >;[

i don’t think we’ll be hearing back from them anytime soon…
according to many people in the past years, lots of people didnt hear back from them until after May 1. and that wouldnt be surprising again this year…

i appealed to uc berkeley and LA… on the website still says that the appeal is still “in review”

i still regret not putting a few more bits of info in my letter…

oh well, i’ve been checking obsessively at least twice a day, but i’m losing faith, so I’m submitting my SIR to UCI on the 28th or 29th…

i see…if i remember…i think from last year’s appeal thread–someone got in around this time…this person must have been a legit candidate.

“oh well, i’ve been checking obsessively at least twice a day, but i’m losing faith, so I’m submitting my SIR to UCI on the 28th or 29th…”

Do it. If you get into Berkeley or LA, you’d lose $100. Hopefully, that wouldn’t be too big of a cost. On the other hand, if you don’t submit your SIR and get into neither Berkeley or LA, you’re SOL.

I’m not checking my status again until April 30th.

finally my status changed 2 days ago. now i’m nervous -___- it’s hard to keep my mind off ucla knowing i gotta check every few days.

i have not appealed ucb, just la. wait is killing me. tho i am beginning to really like my alternative ucsd. as i researched more, ucsd is even higher in several rankings than la- not just bio eng. where do you guys plan to sir. goodluck.

^ yeah, ucsd isn’t really all that bad after all…its just that ucsd doesnt have the
D1 football team to give it recognition (like ucla and cal)…but other than that, its almost as good as the other two.

im still not really sure about the SIR.

probably now 80% chance SIR-ing to UCSD and 20% chance SIR-ing to UC Berkeley.

well my appeal to cal got rejected today… so now just waiting for ucla. my alternative is also ucsd. haha have any of you heard of ucsd love class? Psych 158

has anybody heard of ucla yet? i haven’t heard of anything about ucla results yet, but i’ve heard of ones for cal, sd, sb, etc.

Nope. From Last year’s appeal thread to UCLA–people heard from UCLA around this time.

i don’t know about this year…just keep checking. :/

I am prob SIRing to UCSD too if LA doesn’t work out. But gosh, I really love LA more than SD so yeah, just hoping for the best but at this point, I don’t care too much.
