Also. Maybe I’m taking advantage of the anonymity of the Internet, but do not mention in your letter that an admissions counselor lied, or your parents are at fault, or that UCLA is now inhumane.

These aren’t excuses. I’m also missing pre reqs; and my school f***Ed some stuff up for me, but my ass should have been on assist.org and on the phone with UCLA many times before I applied. It’s still MY fault.

So don’t appeal based on confusion and delusion; appeal based on your academic merit which I’m sure stands solid on its own.

jinx, i couldnt submit an unofficial enrollment for the classes b/c enrollment doesnt start for sumemr courses until june 15th on where i plan on taking it. thats why.

whoswithwhathow…
who said i blamed my parents? anyways, if u have a problem then dont respond. no one is asking u to plz. quit making an argument every 10 mins. seriously. im getting sick of people like u.

UCI has paul merage school of busniess where I can take some classes. UCSD does not. IDeally I would go to UCLA where I can take classes at Anderson while in the undergrad program

jinx. i know, it is my fault. i should have confirmed twice atleast about what was happening and why i got rejected. i haven’t blamed ucla, neither have i blamed my parents.

im mad at myself for losing the opportunity for another shot for not getting the accurate information from the admissions counselor, whose job is to give me the truth.

You can reappeal, but you have to put your all in it. If your current school can’t show any documents showing you are enrolled, find onE of many California community colleges and take an online early summer intensive (short) course. Do this from any school you don’t even have to live nearby. Really really understand that no matter what, you can find a way. You can’t control the decision of the admissions office, but you can present them everything you need.

Vyruz: Whats the point of taking some classes at Merage if you aren’t part of the program? Thats like going to Cal and taking Haas classes for fun on its extreme curve.

To reappeal? Just send a letter saying you’re taking more classes. Include spring grades and one or two rec letters.

You can even give people who’d make good recs prestamped envelopes. Tell your rec letter author to mention in the letter that you have NOT read the rec letter. Schools dig this. They like feeling like the applcant is not the middleman between the rec letters and the admissions office. They feel it’s more honest.

But all there is to it is writing another letter asap

I know how it feels to be rejected by my dream school UCLA twice :(

Now I don’t really know the REAL reason why I was rejected as a Business Econ major

I completed ALL pre-req, had my IGETC done, and had 60 UC transferable units with 3.95 GPA

I believe my essay was above average and my extracurricular activities were decent

The only thing I could do now is to tell myself that I probably should do TAP since Business Econ is sooooo competitive and that was probably the main reason I was rejected

I feel pretty bad and helpless because two years of hard work turned out to be rejected by UCLA…

Vyruz Reaper, by the way, I chose to attend UCI for the exact same reason since UCSD does not have accounting minor…

There is no appeal deadline. The may 22nd date is largely to keep people from pestering the office throughout summer asthey prepare for another academic year. If you send in another letter they WILL read it.

Did you even read all the things I wrote to you to help you? I wrote it from a damn iPhone. The above paragraph is from an earlier post.

yes i did jink! i seriously did and i REALLY appreciate ALL ur advice!! im just like so shocked by this that i have nothing to say. im definately going to go with another shot, but im definitely doing it! without a doubt… and i REALLY appreciate ALL ur help!

thats some great advice. thank u =)

and thats quite a talent for an iphone. i gave mine up cause it was so hard to type on it lol

A Unique Program at UC Irvine -
A very small number of exceptionally qualified UC Irvine undergraduates are accepted each year for an accelerated program leading to a bachelor’s degree and an M.B.A. in five years of study. Acceptance into the 3-2 Program constitutes advanced admission to the graduate program. Students complete their undergraduate major requirements by the end of their junior year. During their senior year, they take graduate courses in the full-time M.B.A. program. These courses satisfy their undergraduate unit requirements and at the same time apply toward the graduate degree.

Successful completion of the requirements in the program normally leads to the bachelor’s degree in the undergraduate major after the fourth year and an M.B.A. after the fifth year. Although all undergraduate majors are eligible, it is difficult for students in some disciplines (e.g., engineering) to complete major requirements within three years. Other prerequisites include:

* Completion of statistics with probability – Mathematics 7 with a grade of B or better
Completion of calculus – Mathematics 2A with a grade of B or better

Admission to this program is highly selective and requires exceptional academic performance at UC Irvine. Because of the importance of team projects in the M.B.A. program, personal maturity is a significant factor for admission. Work experience is another important factor. While undergraduates are not expected to have as much full-time work experience as other M.B.A. candidates, significant summer or part-time jobs and internships are strongly preferred. Students who are admitted generally have an average GPA of 3.6 and score above the incoming class average on the GMAT.

Three avenues of academic preparation for business and management are available at UC Irvine: the minor in Management, the minor in Accounting, and the 3-2 Program.

i just wrote a straight to the point, a little more than half page letter stating all that. hope it works for me this time. im including two letters of rec that i have, but didnt mail them in last time b/c idk why? theyre sealed and official. and this time, i have my course listings for the summer. i just enrolled in those courses at another cc close to my home.

do transcripts have to be official? unofficial is good too?

unofficial is fine, remember, everyone who has been accepted so far hasn’t had to send in official transcripts, so far everyone is unofficial. just make sure you have a document showing you’ll have 60 units by fall 2009

And yeah I’m going for law. I’m a bit of the letdown in my family. Ma and Pa were both ivy undergrads and I went to california community college. Blegh. I got off to a shaky start because I had to graduate secondary school in the middle of my 12th year. I started taking community college courses right after but got rejected from all private schools (they don’t allow you to appeal), so I’m trying to do UCLA undergrad then a good Law School afterward. Granted, I’m 18 so I’ll be getting my bachelor’s at 20… hopefully. If UCLA accepts me…
