when did you guys send in your appeal letter?
i just sent mine in like two days ago.

^^ its been a week and half now

6 days

I sent my appeal in like two weeks ago. My appeal I thought was pretty valid - I called them and asked if I should submit the appeal and waste the time to do it regarding my situation (obviously in much nicer context). And, they said that my situation makes sense and that I should submit it. There were two problems with my application: 1) I did not list all of my courses that would end up equaling to over 60 units - so as far as the application was concerned I had only 50 units completed; when in reality, I have 63.5 (with the inclusion of an AP test) transferable units. By the way, I’m a 1-yr transfer. 2) I applied as a French major and I for whatever reason did not list my 6 years of French classes that I have took. I have no idea why, but whatever. I provided documentation for this.

I’m thinking that is a big difference on their original assesment of my application. What do you guys think?

sounds legit.

anyone appealing with TAP?

yeah, i’m appealing with TAP. i haven’t sent mine in yet, because i’m waiting for a letter of req from a teacher. plus i have all this other crap to do for finals. i’m probably going to send mine in next wednesday. cutting it close, i know but i have no other time! oh, and i’m appealing because i was short units as well, and i want to inform them of an independent study course that i’ve been taking, so hopefully they go for that

Heard back today. Denied again.

“In response to your recent appeal regarding our fall 2009 admission decision, we have carefully reviewed your application again. We are sorry to inform you that the initial decision stands.”

^
Really? Already? I’m sorry to hear that…]:

no way. are they responding? when did u send urs?

Morning of May 7th. They received it and updated my status Monday, May 11th.

Blue arrow. What were your grounds for your admissions? May I ask if they were just purely academics and nothing like financial hardship related?

I wrote about my ADD and how i’ve been able to overcome up (included a doctors note). I also talked about how I didn’t take any academic exceptions privileged at my school to the learning disabled, which would have given me a higher GPA.

Recs came from a letter written jointly by two business professors and the other from the college president. They discussed my achievements (SSCCC senator, Student body president) at school and how i will leave a great legacy when i leave.

sorry for that bluearrrowil =(

I sent in my appeal 3 weeks ago. I got in to UCLA today!! I’m officially a bruin! I still can’t believe it though. I pinched myself really hard today hoping this all wasn’t a dream. For those who are still waiting on appeals! GOOD LUCK! I really hope it works out for you! Btw guys, I had very legit reasons for appeal though so that’s probably why it worked out in my favor. I’m now done with college confidential (I think). I’m off to my dream college now :D:D:D:D:D

WOW! Congratulations! I’m sure you did, man the UCLA Appeals Committee is getting it done! [:
