[] School Type: Charter
[] Ethnicity: Asian, Indian
[] Gender: Male
[]Income Bracket: idk, middle class
[] Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): Not really
[/ul]Reflection[ul]
[] Strengths: SAT and AP scores, high level of courses
[] Weaknesses: My GPA, and lack of amazing achievements. Didn’t really matter too much for Illinois though
[] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: See Strengths
[li] Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Accepted: Minnesota Rejected: Caltech[/li]General Comments: This was sort of my last back-up school. The only reason I applied is because it is a top 10 ranking in chemical engineering. My top choice was Caltech but since I got rejected from there I’m hoping to get into Cal.[/ul]

Admitted to mechanical engineering (weighted GPA 4.67, SAT 2320, etc.), my first decision and first admit - this is my main safety school, but it’s good to know I’m for sure :)

Admitted!

LAS-Chemical Engineering
in state
GPA- 4.29 (W)
ACT- 35
8 AP’s
Highly ranked Chicago suburban public high school

Strengths-probably ACT
Weaknesses-EC’s could have been more stand out

Congrats to all!

Denied Business, offered alternate admission so I chose economics!
2070 SAT/3.25 UW GPA

Though I’m confused on one thing - on the admission info page it says that there’s “admit - alternate choice” and then “offered alternate program”. The description says that for “offered alternate program”, you will be CONSIDERED for the alternate major, which sounds like you have not been accepted yet. But when I went to choose my alternate major, the page said that I would be automatically admitted into the major that I chose…so which one is right?? Does anyone know if I’ve been accepted or not?

As to some questions above:

“Could anyone tell me what is the deposit deadline please?”

There is no “deposit.” Your accepting admission requires no payment but you have until May 1 to accept. You will need a deposit for housing which you cannot apply for until you accept and you need to apply for housing by May 15. Other than the deposit for housing, your tuition, fees, and room & Board payments will not come due until about third week of September.

“Can UIUC deny you if you fail to submit official transcripts?”

That is a rather odd question for someone just admitted. Transcripts are not due until June and you will need to submit one or they can withdraw your admission. If this is an issue of having high school partly or wholly in a country from which it may be impossible or extremely difficult to get transcripts, then you should contact admissions to learn of alternatives.

Some, probably many, are seeing deferrals, particularly if you applied business or engineering. Majority of those deferred are eventually admitted.

As to the alternate program question above, if economics was the alternate and you were allowed to take it, you have it.

Admitted- LAS for Anthropology

28 ACT
3.5 uw/ 3.65 w gpa

This was my third choice school, but I got into my first choice earlier today! I’m surprised I got in because of my low gpa, but I guess my major, essays and ECs stood out.

Congrats to all who got in, and good luck to those who got deferred or denied.

@drusba: Are you sure the majority of those deferrals are eventually accepted? And does it mean I’ve been deferred from business or DGS if my “college” still says business? My school’s chart considers me borderline for UIUC in general, so I wouldn’t be surprised if I got rejected from DGS as well.
