^ I haven’t received one either.

It takes a little more than a week for some out-of-states. Don’t worry, UNC is not the UC-system. If you got an accepted letter, rest assure, you’re in and you should be overjoyed that you’re going to be a TAR HEEL!

ok thanks. well i am from Durham but i couldn’t remember if I put my mailing address to my dorm (in Denver) or my house haha so if it was supposed to go to my house then that’d be weird cause it’s 15 min away. oh well the online one is perfectly fine!

Have people already started getting their course evaluations yet? I still haven’t gotten mine…

^ I got mine early this week. The credit evaluation will be sent to your heelmail account, not the email address you put in your application. Also, make sure that you already set up an ONYEN.

FWIW, I got mine in the email I applied under.

^ so did I

^same.

I have a question. I haven’t clicked plan to enroll yet because I’m still waiting on other schools. But do I need to click on plan to enroll for things like “transfer credit report” and adviser gets assigned?

Because I’ve received my credit evaluation by email but I can’t see it on my student center. I don’t know what the difference is between my student center and an Onyen (I signed up for one but it just took me to the student center page).

If I click enroll, do I have to pay right away?

Did anyone else get an email about getting a laptop grant? I thought my EFC would be too high to get one (~$8000) but apparently not. Is this a good sign that my financial aid will be good? I still haven’t gotten anything about FA yet…

I haven’t gotten my FA either but also got the laptop grant. I also have the same question: is this a good sign for our financial aid package?

Haven’t received my transfer credit report yet :/

Anyways, what do you guys plan to do for housing? On campus? If so, where? Ram Village? Or off campus?

If I go to UNC, I’ll live on campus - most likely in Ram Village as part of the Transfer United LLC.

@KevAquarius - Likely what I will be doing as well.

Do you know what the cost of living in Ram Village is? I heard it is slightly more expensive than the estimated housing costs listed on the UNC website.

Also, can we have our own apartment in Ram Village (no roommate)?

Hello everyone! Congrats to all who have been accepted. I’ve been watching this thread for quite some time hoping to tranfer in next year. I am nurse major however I know how difficult it is to transfer straight into the program. So has anyone transfer as an undecided or changed their major due to any similar circumstances.

Thank you:)

It depends on what you mean by “good.” My FA package (minus the laptop grant) was about $32,000 in grants and $7,500 in loans - around $39,500 altogether. Not a bad chunk of change; but, when you take into account the average COA is around $44,000+ for OOS students, I don’t think my FA package is really all that great - especially considering the fact I was eligible for the Carolina Covenant Scholarship (no loans, full COA covered FA package), and yet I didn’t receive it.

So, personally, I wouldn’t take the laptop grant as an indicator of how good your FA package will be - or, better yet, I wouldn’t take it as an indicator of how happy you’ll be with your FA offer. Of course, it all depends on your needs and expectations.

Anyway, hope it all works out for you guys.

^you going to UNC, pencilin? :)

Christ that’s a lot of loans…oh well. Thanks for the info pencilinablender!

Can someone PLEASE answer my question.
Is there anyway that I can take a look at housing and classes without accepting (paying the deposit) admission. I’m still waiting on other schools but I wish to start looking at UNC classes and housing.

Also what is the difference between our Student Center and an Onyen account?

^Kev - have you heard back from Emory yet?

Matisyahu, you should be able to search through classes without officially enrolling as long as you’ve created an Onyen. You can view classes on your student center. As far as housing goes, you can can look at pictures of the dorms and apartments on housing.unc.edu
I’m not sure if this is exactly what you’re asking about. An Onyen is like your permanent username, and it replaces your former guest id. Instead of logging into the student center with your old guest id, you’ll log in with your Onyen if you’ve created one.
