OFFICIAL University of Maryland Fall 2013 Transfer

I am in constant contact with the financial aid office, it is really frustrating. They keep giving me different dates that are aid will be put up online. From my most recent call, I was told that aid packages will be distributed after spring grades are released…That is 2-3 weeks. It is just really annoying to be given different dates, especially when people need to know what their situation is going to look like. I am just tired of being told “in two weeks”

@Jensgt: I know. Make sure you’ve completed all of your supplemental forms. Turns out that they take a while to process and FA can only be released when they’re all done.

Oops, I meant that as a general comment.

What supplemental forms are there? I just filled out the FAFSA…the website said it was complete. I am assuming it does not matter since I just filled it out I am sure it’s too late. I am more interested in if I got any kind of scholarship from the Chemistry dept.

The FAFSA was all that was needed as far as I know…They might ask for verification, but that is when you just send in your/parents tax forms to the school.

Oh, yeah. That was the form I was referring to. I guess I would say just keeping calling them?

My FA package came out almost a week ago, it was only the $5,000 from the school… And i was told that fafsa money and other local gov’t grants come out after you submit all of those forms (student asset/parent asset etc…)…It’s funny how I have finished all my FA papers, but still haven’t confirmed my enrollment…lol

Is there a link to these other forms? I only saw FAFSA.

you just log into your FA portal, then click my documents on the left side

I don’t know what I’m doing with this whole college process. I’ve been doing it by myself and I just confirmed my enrollment because tomorrow is the deadline. But then I got this screen to apply to MTAP wuuuht? I thought everyone who completes 15 or more credits at a certain cc with a gpa of 3.0+ is automatically in the program. But now it’s telling me to apply to it? Did I make a mistake and now they’ll reject me? >__<

Also, can you get campus housing without getting the dining plan? Or does anyone know the cancellation policy for the dining plan? Idk if I can afford it…

Anyone else’s required classes filling up?
There are only 4 seats left in ENAE 283 and the earliest orientation I could sign up for is June 14.

edit: Apparently they open up more seats later in the summer for transfers/other late comers, for now it’s reserved for current declared students. Wonder if other departments have this practice?

The earliest orientation I could get too was in July! Count your blessings haha. My friend told me that people in that major get priority in the waitlist and not to worry about it. She also said that people so end up dropping it and changing it around, so more chances than not we will get into our classes.

do we register at orientation?

We register for classes at orientation

So rather than try to track down my hs records that may or may not still have my immunization records, I went to the doctor to have a titers test done. It turns out my past mmr didn’t take fully and I’m only immune to rubella. So I got my first of two new shots today and will get the second one done a few days before my orientation. At first I was peeved I had to fill out the immunization form, but now I’m glad I won’t risk getting measles in my 30’s :-)

Where can we find out when all of these required forms are due?

Hey all! How’s everyone doing?

Has anyone’s testudo account stopped being recognized? My friend’s had, and she’s worried (she’s emailed fin. Aid and IT already)

…Anyone there?

This post really died off once we got our responses. Where is everyone :(

I got really busy with finals and now I’m about to start a summer I class. My orientation date is june 14, I’m hoping the classes I’m looking at don’t get completely filled after the May 29 orientation.
