Official University of Michigan Transfer Thread for Fall 2015

@NCXfer‌ i know! Ive asked about it and they just tell me that nothing is missing. Maybe its a class for credit evaluation?

@fn1518 thats a great idea lol hoping i get in soon. its so hard to enjoy spring break when this is all i can think about.

@NCXfer I literally just got off the phone with them and they told me the same thing. Apparently my application is complete but it just isn’t marked complete. Its freaking me out.

This happened to me a few weeks ago too. Basically, after I sent in the syllabus for the course they asked for, the credit evaluator evaluated it and sent the results back to the main admissions office. Although the credit evaluators are pretty fast, it takes time for the main office to process the new information. So to the main office, although all your stuff is in, it hasn’t been marked as complete yet since the main office hasn’t processed the results of the evaluation yet.

It took around one week for it to be processed. Hope this helps!

@TVNerd how can they do a credit evaluation if I haven’t even been accepted yet?

Thinking back I probably should have asked her if I needed to submit an email with my course details… that’s basically the only thing I was worried about not having because some of you guys said that we might need to email them that stuff even if we included it on the common app. So I really don’t know. I might call back tomorrow or something.

What’s this credit evaluation you guys are talking about?

@NCXfer‌ @kyleMI‌ They first evaluate your courses to see if they match the prereqs, they may email you asking for more information, such as homeworks or syllabus for certain classes you took. They asked me for information about one of my courses a few days after I submitted my app. This delayed the time when my app was marked as complete.

As for emailing current year courses, I got paranoid from reading this forum haha and called them up. They said that if your current year courses are on your transcript, then you should be fine. The rep read all my current year courses to me from my transcript and said my app was good.

It doesn’t hurt to call though if you’re unsure. Takes literally 5-10 minutes of your day and you feel much less paranoid afterwards lol

@TVNerd‌ thank you bud. I will definitely give them a call tomorrow to make sure my app is complete.

The 4-6 weeks waiting time starts when your app is marked as complete. Although I submitted my app 1/20 and sent in my course information beginning of February, it was only marked as complete on 2/15.

Where does it even say our app is complete? The office keeps telling me to check WA but I already do a billion times a day! I have no holds, but I never had any holds from when I submitted my app on Jan29th. And yet when I call the office they keep telling me that my app is incomplete.
Can anyone tell me where, exactly, on WA it says our app is complete or incomplete??

@mganxx‌ That’s strange, I haven’t found anywhere on WA that tells whether your app is complete. An admissions rep always told me if it was complete or not. Did they ever ask for extra course information from you?

@TVNerd‌ I have contacted the admissions office. The lady said that my app was marked as complete on Feb 16. Guess they never needed my course information. I asked if my midterm report has been received as well - I sent it in via ecredentials last week, and it’s a yes. Ah, I also asked if she knows when the CoE kids can expect to hear back, and she said it’s usually 4-6 weeks after the app is complete, so I’m hoping to receive the decision by the end of March?! Hopefully

@kyleMI‌ That’s great to hear! I didn’t send in a midterm report. Do we need to do that for CoE?

@TVNerd‌ When I did an online chat with a rep about 2 weeks ago, I asked her if I could send in my midterm report. She said that the midterm report is not a requirement; however, if it’s something you would like them to see, then feel free to send it. Since I’m still taking the prerequisite courses and earning good grades, I decided to send it in in hope that it would make my app look stronger. So yeah, it’s totally up to you.

@kyleMI‌ Ohh I see. That makes sense. Thanks for the heads up! Are you also applying to CoE?

@TVNerd‌ You’re welcome and yes I am. :slight_smile:

Cool what major are you applying for! I applied for Electrical Engineering!

@TVNerd‌ I applied for Chemical Engineering. Hope that both of us will get in!

If anyone applied to CoE and their application hasn’t been marked as complete its probably because CoE is evaluating your credits and haven’t notified admissions yet about it.Just got off the phone with admissions.

People in other threads are already talking about FA and such which makes me more anxious. =P Hope that us transfer people will get our decisions soon!
