Accepted to LSA for physics. Got my acceptance email yesterday. Weird that it was sent on Easter Sunday.
@mganxx Thank you and wish you the best luck!
They asked me for course info to do transfer credit evaluation but I’m not accepted yet. It’s for ENGR 101, for which I’m 99% sure my C++ and some other engineering related graphic courses will suffice. I’m just curious if they do this for everyone. In other words, would they ask me to do transfer credit evaluation even if something else in my application would cause them to reject me? Or do they get all transfer credit info regardless and then decide? I find it inefficient to spend the time evaluating transfer credit if something else in my application is not good enough for them and ultimately cause a rejection regardless of how the transfer credit evaluation goes. Anyone get what I’m saying? =p
Accepted today for LSA program! If anyone is looking for a roommate message me!
@jz9chen i get what youre saying, kinda gave me a glimmer of hope because i had to do that same thing . But then again, Michigan does a holistic review so they could very well be asking anyone whose classes need to be evaluated because they havent evaluated them before. An admissions rep told me that my app wasnt complete yet because CoE was still evaluating my credits. In order for an app to be complete it has to be audited and he said that it includes a calculated GPA based on the credit evaluation. From there its passed on for app review and then a decision is made.
@ShuttlepilotND I also had to send in a course description for ENGR 101 prereq and was later told that my courses satisfied it. I called back about a month ago and they said my app was completed on 2/15. But now I’m not sure if it was truly completed since you said yours hasn’t been completed yet by CoE. I’m wondering if when they said ‘complete’ they meant all the materials were in, and maybe not “CoE complete”. I guess calling them tomorrow won’t hurt.
So far, it seems only 3 CoE people have heard back on this forum. Everyone else is LSA. Wondering when the rest of us will hear back haha
@TVNerd lemme know what they say, i dont want to keep bugging them asking if my app has been marked as complete. Admissions said that CoE has different criteria when it comes to marking an app as complete and could be why they ask for those documents when evaluating credits.
@ShuttlepilotND Will do. Have you checked on the recently added courses list on the transfer credit page to see if they have completed evaluating your courses? That might give you some clue on whether they’ve finished evaluating your ENGR 101 prereq yet.
@tvnerd yea I checked and my C++ class transfers, hopefully that’s a good sign. What’s your major?
@ShuttlepilotND That’s great! I’m going for Electrical Enginnering
@ShuttlepilotND I just called admissions and they said my application is still under review and everything is in. They said that only recently are CoE transfer apps started being reviewed and decisions sent out. They should have decisions sent out by mid-April, so around one or two weeks. Hope that helps!
Hey @tvnerd thanks for the insight! Now i guess we play the waiting game, when did u submit ur app? Im Aerospace btw.
@TVNerd @ShuttlepilotND i wonder if they can reject us even after admitting us. my grades this semester not looking promising, I’m estimating high C’s low B’s, compared to A’s and B’s from last two semesters
@TVNerd where do you find the transfer credit page? I couldn’t find it in the WA where I check my app status
@jz9chen they do rescind acceptances if you dont meet their conditions of admission. I believe you have to keep a certain GPA, usually above a 3.0, but it depends on major
@jz9chen here is the link, its not on WA, but on their general page
http://apps.engin.umich.edu/equivalencies/courses/recentlyupdated
I submitted my app 1/20 and it was processed 1/21. I got the ENGR 101 email a few days later and my app was officially complete 2/15.
As for getting your acceptance rescinded, I read on forums that generally one or two bad grades shouldn’t hurt you. But a noticeable drop in grades may raise some red flags (like many C’s or D’s)
Lol I created a filter in my email so that if an email comes from Michigan Admissions it’ll go in there so I wont freak out.
@tvnerd did you have to call to see if your app was complete? last week I called and they said that nothing was missing but it wasnt marked as complete yet.
I got accepted late last night (the view decision link popped up on WA) to the COE and got the email today. So I think you guys should receive your decisions soon!
